Any progress on this, MuffinMan?

I looked up the numbers that you quoted, but the images for these parts look like they were drawn by a 5 year old with a ruler. Damned internet...you've failed me for the last time.

Now if only all mods where this easy! 5 minutes on each side....have to wait until tonight to see full effect. Would have never known about this, thanks Azine.

Still shaking my head wondering why manufacturer would install lights there only to have it covered!

Didn't see your post sock!

I actually hadn't had a chance to order them yet, been swamped trying to buy random nicknack parts for the S2000 gotta pick one or the other!

Maybe I'll try to sweet talk my Acura dealer this week though.

As an update, I just ordered both Amber lights the other day along with a few other parts to see if they come with clear lenses and if they're compatible.

I'll update the thread with pictures when they come in!

Update

Received the parts and have fantastic news

34760-TL0-G11 which is for the 2013 Acura TSX and are amber are identical. You can pop off the clear cover and install it on your blue LEDs or you can use the amber ones from the TSX.

The RLX light (34760-TY2-A11) does fit into the same hole on the cover, however the clear lens is different.

The RLX light is also a SMD type versus an actual bulb.

So if you want blue lights, buy the TSX ones and swap covers. If you want amber, I'd probably go with the RLX.

How is the light output with the clear covers?

I'll take a before/after picture tonight since I only replaced one of the lenses.

It's noticeably brighter, like, now you actually have footwell lighting!

Why they'd put a black cover on it is beyond me.

Haha, went to order the second one and apparently it's now on backorder. Guess I snagged the last one for the time being!

Since the Acura brand only has blue, if you search under the Honda brand, part #34760-TL0-G01, you can get the color red, if you're looking for a color change.

When ordering I'm assuming you need 2 correct? Does the Honda ones come with a clear lens as well or is black?

Thanks!

Just did this to my 12 TL tonight. You guys are awesome. Literally five minutes total for both sides as I didnt drill anyhting. Just opted to tape the LEDs back in place. I found that by changing the level of cabin lighting I was able to get everything just the way I'd like it.

Pictures will probably not look great but I wanted to contribute something. This is with the filter totally removed. Thanks alot guys. I did not enhance the brighrness on my camera. This is what it looked like in person.

This was so easy I did it in my driveway

at night with nothing more than a mini mag light and a couple pieces of masking tape.

Yes im wearing crocs. I only wear them for jaunts out to the car, mailbox and garbage can. I believe this was at max brightness setting.

Looking over at passenger side from drivers seat.

Kind of what it would like for a passenger looking over at the drivers floor.

Incorrect.

Acura (TSX and RLX) both have Amber lighting.

If you use the part number I listed for the 2013 Acura TSX, you need to order 2 of them.

34760-TL0-G11

I can't speak for the part number Acc-Rite is quoting as I didn't purchase that one. Given the similarities of the part numbers, (G01 vs G11) it wouldn't surprise me if it is compatible as well.

Honda Automotive Parts

So it looks like we now have the following options:

34760-TL0-G11 - Amber Light (clear lens) - 2011-2013 Acura TSX
34760-TL0-G01 - Red Light (clear lens) - 2012-2015 Civic SI / 2013-2015 Accord Coupe
34760-TA0-J01 - Blue Light (black lens) - 2009-2014 Acura TL

I contacted by buddy who works at Honda. The part number Acc-Rite gave is correct but it must be off the 2014 Honda Civic. The Accord is a different assembly.

I ordered 2. They'll be here Weds next week so I'll keep this thread posted.

I wager it'll work. If they're in stock for Honda I'll buy one of those as well. Right now I've got one bright light and one dim light.

I looked at his part number and while it is for a light assembly (I checked it on Majestic Honda) I don't know if the mounting/lens is identical. That was the whole reason I bought the two different Acura ones.

The Accord/Civic one may be like the RLX which is not a swappable lens. The TSX one you can swap the lens onto the blue TL lights.

Good to know. Worst case I'll just return it. My buddy always takes care of me so I'll let you know. It's being shipped from Portland to Seattle on Monday so it'll take a couple days.

If you've got a buddy you may be able to return it, I know for any/all of the special order parts I do they're non returnable/refundable.

I still need to get some pictures...

Yeah he's picked up parts for me numerous times and if it's not correct he returns them for me. And yes, I wanna see your photos with the clear covers.

Just picked up a single red one as well to check compatibility. Should be here tomorrow.

I also tried to take a picture last night Carbon - my phone is terrible at picking up on the lighting. I'm going to see if I can get a better picture tonight.

I'm more than happy to take pictures of the lenses/housings themselves though - nothing crazy. Just take the black piece on ours and make it crystal clear haha.

Update -

34760-TL0-G01 - Red Light (blue lens) - 2012-2015 Civic SI / 2013-2015 Accord Coupe

THIS DOES NOT HAVE A CLEAR LENS

I just picked mine up and have attached pictures of the stock (OEM) blue light and the Accord red light. I'll take pictures of the Amber one later for reference (it's brown with a clear lens).

Damn... Thanks for the comparison photos Muffin. That should help some people. Looks like Ill be drilling the caps if I want either blue or red. Honda/Acura failed on this design.

Yeah, it looks like the part to get is 34760-TL0-G11 which is the TSX part (amber led + clear lens). The lens can then be swapped to any of these LEDs to get the brightest output. It's currently on backorder so I only have one (lol)

If anyone wants to purchase the red LED one (it's literally brand new, still have the Honda bag) I paid $12 for it and I'll sell it for $10 shipped. Save someone some $$ if they want red lighting.

Yeah, I'm slacking, the lens is currently installed in the car and the light itself is over in my storage unit.

I don't think they'll be able to since the assembly is a single part number, I don't even know how they'd go about ordering it? I put in my order for a second amber one late yesterday - we won't know an ETA on the backorder until it gets processed (today). I'll try to pull it off for pictures around lunch.

Yep, if you can find a TSX dude willing to swap I'd recommend it. I've got the one and another on order but don't know how long it'll be until the second comes in. Maybe you can sweet talk them by swapping them for your red ones?

I've looked (lazily) on eBay but haven't seen any yet. I honestly don't understand Honda on this, if it was frosted clear then it'd diffuse the light but still allow more through. Right now with both the red and blue LED's you're blocking a ton of the light output.

Not only that, I really question the blue cover on the red light in particular. Granted, the black cover on blue makes no sense, but what "shade" were they trying to achieve with blue on red? It's almost as if they went to the supplier and just said "we need a cover to protect something this shape", without mentioning it was a light, and the supplier then just used what they had available.

So another update, Acura has an ETA of March 6th for the second TSX light I ordered. So like 2.5/3 weeks of waiting for it which isn't terrible IMO.

Rode in one of my homies TSX wagon Weds. night and he for sure has the clear caps. They were super bright.

This was taken in a parking garage and not pure dark outside. You can tell how much of a difference the clear caps make vs the covered ones.

Oh shit carbon - is that your blue LED in the wagon? Or is that his stock stuff? There may be a blue LED with clear caps available as another part!

Another part number incoming!!!!!!

34760-TL0-J11

It looks like our Amber light may be for the glovebox or something?

ANNNNNNNNNNNNDDDDDDDD ordered one. Let's see if that's a SMD or any brighter than the stock TL one.

No those are his factory ones. I would be surprised if they weren't clear caps. Never thought about blue with clear caps lmao. Glad I could contribute. Also found out the CU2 TSX SE comes with Red LED's.

Yeah, that looks quite bright. The diagram on Bernardi lists that both the Amber and Blue have a required quantity of '1' for the passenger side which is odd to me. I'd be surprised if the sedan has different footwell lighting than the wagon but here it is!

Also to note, this one has a different name/description.

This one (for the wagon ) is "Light, Foot" versus "Light, Ambient"

Found this crazy Japanese website which seems to confirm it's a blue LED with clear lens (which is what I've Frankenstein'd)

Minor update from my end - I received my 2nd backordered Amber LED from the TSX and installed it. I have not yet received the blue led from the TSX wagon!

So I still have one light coming in with a blue LED (and I assume a clear lens).

More than happy to sell that guy to you since my car is done! Then if they're on backorder like mine you can get away with buying the one in stock or something.

I've got:

- 1 red
- 2 amber
- 2 blue

And that other blue on the way haha.
