Lease on SH-AWD?

Has anyone seen lease quotes on the SH-AWD? With or without tech package? Thanks!

A dealer in NJ told me yesterday that there is a national program on the SH-AWD Non-Tech for $499 a month for 36 months with $3990 due at signing + TTL. Not so great in my book. However, I have not been able to find any details on the web about this.

I was given a 3year quote of $517, with 2k down 12k a year 20 cents a mile for a tech. This was also in NJ.

jesus! $499 for a AWD non-tech! That's $100.00 more expensive than my 07 Type-S for almost the same MSRP. That's horrible!

They have advertised the FWD with Tech for $449 / 36mo and $1999 DAS.... which is about the same MSRP as my 07 Type-S... and it's STILL $50.00 more. (I just put taxes down and 1st month on my 36mo lease)

AND i get 12k miles... these lease "specials" are for 10k miles!

No wonder I have only seen 2 4G TLs on Long Island. (Compared to the 1000s of 3Gs) They have been out long enough for us to be seeing more of them out there. The dealerships here have a ton of them on their lots.

Come on Acura! U gotta do better with these leases!! BOO! I hope things get better b4 my lease is up Feb 08. (Hopefully the 6sp manual will be out and the grill will be modded).

Whoa, lotta anger there. These deals are negotiable and vary with your credit rating. Of course it's going to be more than a 07', this is a lot more car. In a similar deal I paid a little less and got 12K a year, so there you go. It's not always Acura either, there's the Dealership and financial institutions that come in to play as well. Feb 08? I think your lease is up my friend...

from what I understand a lot of lease rates are up. BMW took an over 100 million $ write off on leases - as the values of the cars at the end of the leases were not what they counted on. their lease rates went up too

may not be so much acura's fault as the current state of the market

they might be about the same msrp, but i bet you didnt lease your 07 type s at msrp either....probably about 6k less....and that would make up the difference....this is why every dillweed working at a minimum wage job thinks he can afford a 40k car....

My guy at the dealer told me they recently dropped the MF to 00165. I leased one back in October and got the 0021 rate that was offered. I don't know what the residual is now but I'm sure it's a little worse so that might offset the drop in interest rate. All in all I'll still bet you can get a slightly better deal now. I only managed $900 off MSRP. I'm guessing you can do double that now if you push and they have high inventory remaining this month. Right about now is when sales die for the rest of the month.

Bottom line; all the gyration aren't going to make too much of a difference; $50+- a month in your payment? That's a cheap dinner for 2. If you want the car J.A.S. Just go get it. Figure somewhere around $600 a month out the door (give or take $50) without any money down and a 15k/36m lease

Good luck and enjoy the car!

The current .00165 MF (for Tier 1 credit rating) is VERY reasonable right now. Combine this with a good residual that the Acura's have, and the lease can be pretty attractive.

The AWD TL w/tech has a 36mo/15K m/yr residual of 58% whereas the FWD w/tech has a 59% residual.

Let's look at approximating the lease payment for a AWD w/Tech... with these assumptions: (3 yrs, 15k/yr)

1. MSRP = $42,995
2. Negotiated discount from MSRP = $2,000
3. Out-of-pocket Cap reduction = $0
4. Cap Cost = $40,995
5. Residual = 58% of MSRP = $24,937
6. MF = .00165
7. Depreciation = (42995 - 24937)/36 = $446.05
8. Interest = (40995 + 24937)*.00165 = $108.79
9. Lease Pymt = Depreciation + Interest = $554.84
10. Lease pymt w/California tax of 8.25% = $600.62

Although no out-of-pocket was computed in the above to reduce Cap cost, you would still need to put down ~$1700 (including first payment) to get into this.

Note that additional dealer discount and/or add'l out-of-pocket toward cap reduction BOTH have the same effect.... so negotiate well! (I hope this helps!)

Thanks for all the math. That really quantifies things for him. Good additional points too. True I am assuming you have good credit and are covering the cost for the starts. Your mileage will vary but it should be within $50 of that number depending on how much you want to grind it out

I don't know if this is an apples to oranges, just an FYI.

Got quoted MF of .0009 for '09 RDX Lease.

Yeah, I know it's not a TL. However could this be an indication of Acura's rates?

Right you are. In contrast to American cars with traditionally lower residual values and therefore comparitively higher lease payments, the foreign car manufacturers would prefer to "discount" money rates rather than publicly discount from MSRP. This practice significantly helps the OEM to preserve brand value and why it pays to shop lease rates - and perhaps especially money factors. Because the residual values are poorer on American cars (typically), these manufactures will have large discounts (employee pricing, etc. and rebates) whereas Japanes and German cars can achieve the same effect with discounted money factors.

Simply stated, Acura could have "advertised" a $2K or $3K discount from MSRP for the RDX, but they could achieve almost the same thing (moving units!) by offering an aggressive money factor.

Not the SH, but Miami-Dade dealers are offering a base 09 lease rate of $399 per month, 36 months, 10k and 2k down. I think it is good for now until the end of the year.

Correct but the lease deals are offered by Honda Finance. it's not a Miami or dealer thing. You're referring to the standard TL lease right now available for everyone

Per Acura website:

FEATURED SPECIAL LEASE: Closed-end lease for 2009 TL Automatic Transmission (Model UA8629JW) for $399.00 per month for 36 months with a $1,005.00 capitalized cost reduction available to customers who qualify for the AHFC Super Preferred credit tier. Other rates/tiers are available under this offer. $1,999.00 total due at lease signing (includes first month's payment with no security deposit, AHFC upfront acquisition fee and capitalized cost reduction; total net capitalized cost and base monthly payment does not include tax, license, title, registration, documentation fees, options, insurance and the like). Not all buyers may qualify.

Subject to limited availability. 12/9/2008 through 1/5/2009, to approved lessees by American Honda Finance Corp. Closed end lease for 2009 TL Automatic Transmission vehicles (Model UA8629JW), for well qualified lessees. Not all lessees will qualify. Higher lease rates apply for lessees with lower credit ratings. MSRP $35,715.00 (includes destination) less the capitalized cost reduction (which may be paid by the suggested dealer contribution) resulting in actual net capitalized cost $33,552.76. Dealer contribution may vary and could affect actual lease payment. Taxes, license, title fees, options and insurance extra. Total monthly payments $14,364.00. Option to purchase at lease end $23,214.75. Lessee responsible for maintenance, excessive wear/tear and 15 cents/mi. over 10,000 miles/year for vehicles with MSRP less than $30,000, but for vehicles with MSRP of $30,000 or more, mileage cost is 20 cents/mi. over 10,000 miles/year. See dealer for complete details.

Thanks for correcting me, spice. The ad made it sound like it was just a regional dealer thing.

Great Lease in Calabasas

Just brought home my '09 TL SH-AWD black/black.
$41254 negotiated price
$1500 out of pocket cap cost reduction/first payment, etc
36 month lease, 12,000 miles a year
$528+tax

And they took back my '06 TL Nav with 3 months of lease left and dissolved the lease for me.
Acura 101 in Calabasas, CA
Going monday to get that ugly silver grill and truck piece blacked out.
But otherwise - I'm so in love, I might just sleep in the car tonight!

Nice deal DrEvil777! Who was your salesman? Regarding the painting on Monday, make sure they do it right! They messed my grill painting, and it's really lack luster as it doesn't match Black Pearl with sparklies! I know it wasn't Acura 101 but they are responsible to who they farm it out to! I still have white paint underneath my rear license plate! Which rims did you get? I'm around the Warner Center area, look forward to seeing you around!

Sang Lee made the sale and my motorcycle mechanic will paint the body work. He does motorcycle race bodywork painting, just amazing stuff. And he can do it for less than the dealer wanted which was $1350.
Look for me going from Encino to Burbank & back daily! I'll be on the 101.

Dang $1350? That's ludicrous! I made sure that the dealer would pay for my painting which made my deal. Cool, if your guy can handle it, make it happen. There's another thread in here somewhere about grill paintings, and this guy says the Black Pearl with sparklies can be matched spot on, it just takes a little TLC. I guess that's why mine is lack luster as the dealer just did a quick and sloppy job.

I'll be looking for ya on the dreadful 101. One of my clients is a pro detailer, holla if you need his services. I'm in the FWD with the ugly rims...

Not bad, my lease is up on my 07 Type S in March, wonder if I should look now. I'll have to say I still like this one better then the new one.

My deal was pretty nice as well, from Open Road Acura in NJ.

09 TL Tech FWD
$455/month
$2000 total out of pocket (TTF, also first month payment)
12K miles (rather than 10K)
They took over my Infiniti and made my last payment of $530

I feel like I made out like a bandit, considering the advertised deal was:

$449/month
$2000 down (excluding TTF)
10K miles
