See... to be a true enthusiast as most of us here are, we need to open up to see what's on the other side. A few test drives and mom has and dad has does not mean that you really know the car. I've always loved Honda, but they seem to have lost their edge. Perhaps after a few years of ownership, I will see the light. Until then.... Happy motoring.

 

Actually, I phrased it that way because last time I referenced you in a thread you weren't a recent part of, you got huffy. You, more than anyone else I can think of, has equated the TL to cars such as the S4 and 5-series. I am happy to provide a bunch of quotes-and-posts demonstrating that, but realize it will result in another string of 12+ paragraph missives from you on value, luxury, etc., so I'll just bait the pitbull and stand back.

 

It was simply a kind request because usually when someone only "references" what one says, it's out of context or it's words being put into others mouths. Quoting is fine so long as one provides the whole post and not just bits and pieces that favor one's argument.

Discussing or demonstrating how cars like an S4, 5 series, and TL equate and compare to one another does not mean any are the end-all be-all of luxury sports sedans or that anyone declared such a thing, ever. Clearly and objectively there will be aspects where they all are superior and inferior to each other. Depending on the criteria it could mean they are competitors but it could also mean they aren't and to makes things worse, if the criteria is anything remotely subjective than it depends on who you ask.

Why this continues to be an ongoing discussion IMO is because of the TL's unique position and offerings combined with some of those who need things to be cut and dry, black or white when few things actually exist on that level.
