I've Moved on....
I've moved on after only 4 months of ownership.
My 2010 ShAwd TL was not the first nor am I new to Acura. Infact, I've been a Honda fan even before I knew how to drive.
In the past my 2000 model and the 2005 has treated me well. There is just something about the 2010 model that just didn't do it for me. I was never really comfortable with the ride and I just couldn't get over the look of it. It just didn't make my heart throb when I see it nor when driving it. So long story short, I jumped over to a 2011 Merc E550. So far, I'm loving it!

Damn, that's one hell of an upgrade. Congrats on the new ride... but no pics? That's the great thing about cars, there's lots of them out there to choose from. We've all said it many times here, life is too short to be unhappy with a car choice.

Well done sir.
You might as well have said, I'm not happy with my Mercedes so I traded it in for an Aston...

Still in the family with the 2010 MDX and the 05 Nsx.
Perhaps the 5G will win me over again. Don't get me wrong, there are some really strong points on the 4G that I will miss. Pics to come on the new toy.

Sorry to hear the SH-AWD didn't do it for you. I'd like to see the new car pics too.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but if someone winds up in a MB E550, then they weren't in the market for an Acura TL to begin with. It's a whole other class of luxury car in an entirely different pricing segment.

To me, the TL is in a class all by itself, but then I'm biased. ![Wink](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
But the point I was trying to make (and I think I failed) is that if you find happiness in a high-end German luxury sport sedan, you were never going to find the same happiness in a value Japanese luxury sport sedan.
The new E550 is a GORGEOUS car. But with a starting price tag of $56K and well up over $70K when you start adding options, I couldn't be happier with my TL-SHAWD!

This is not how I typically post pics, but don't seem to have the photo attachment icon.
Anyhow, here she is 2011 E550. Pano roof, dynamic contour seat ( a must have). AMG sport pkg. and some minor stuff.

- Several of us have moved from our 2009 or 2010 TL SH-AWD cars to Audi S4s recently.
- This forum has several posters claiming the TL is a competitor to the S4, the A6, the BMW 5-series, etc.
- There are more than a few links to magazine or internet reviews comparing the TL to such beasts (although always overlooking the TL omissions.)

Maybe, but consider:

!. Could be several people didn't do their homework ...a few of those post read like someone who could decide between a pair of jeans or slacks, both are trousers but one better suited for dress down Fridays than a boardroom meeting with investors.
2.I claim Hawaii as my personal property...
3.Many of those publications/links are suspect. A friend of mine owns an S4 and he can't see the comparison just based on the size difference which is eye-popping when we park next to one another.
The TL isn't the end-all, be-all of sports-luxury cars, but spending an extra $10K plus doesn't get you one either. Who doesn't like to think their vehicle is of value. The thing that gets me is folks knighting themselves as grand pooba of car-dom. Just because someone jumps of a bridge doesn't mean I should follow.

So the discussion makes sense simply because of the self-insulating views here that the TL is the end-all, be-all of sports-luxury cars.

I still do not own an Acura (the first negotiation for an SH-AWD 6 speed yesterday afternoon failed...let's see if the dealer call me back) but even spending 20K more there is nothing in the German side of the equation that can remotely compare to a TL.....is that simple people....look I spent the entire last Sunday looking for cars....BMW, Audi, MB.....the interiors of a 3 series cannot hold a candle to a TL (so the available space or the overall technology, except the engine) the A4 is only marginally better than the BMW (if you can stomach the ugly dash) but still a far cry from the TL....
I found the interiors of the E Class, more luxurious and less sporty than the TL but the fit and finish was not any better...
Again, I do not own an Acura yet but the TL is damn cheap for what is offer....

All due respect, you're always defending against this when it's never expressed. It is very clear that the 4G community likes the offerings of the TL for the dollar and we generally enjoy and are very happy with our car, that's why we, and even those who have moved on, bought one. That doesn't necessarily mean the car is the best thing ever or the best on every level or aspect, it just means it's the best for the money considering what most of us are looking for.

I owned several different brands (including Audi and BMW, my dad owned couple of Benz) and I'm extremely happy with my current ride (a 6 speed Nissan Maxima)
I told my wife that even if money was not an issue...spend whatever you want but on the condition that it has to be only one car (that means something sporty but practical and spacious at the same time)...I would still get the TL.
Maybe is hard to believe for you but that is it...the TL is the car of my dreams if I can have only one car (and with my current transportation needs)....if I could have more than one then it's different but I still would also own a TL anyway!!!

That's what I was thinking. Sounds like he was ready to be in a different league altogether.
I've looked at 4Matic Merc's. The system is just not as good as the SH-AWD. But if what you're really after is Mercedes more than AWD...well, it's just another world.
