Installing roof spoiler
Just wondering, looked at mine today and the paint is a nice match. Placed it on the car and its perfectly straight. No curvature to wrap around the roof. Its pretty flexible so I think with two people on a hot day we could bend it around but seems like it would have a lot of stress on the tape, especially while drying. Just wondering if others experienced the same thing.

I agree. I self installed making sure that the glass surface was clean. Mine has been on about 6 months and so far so good.

Thanks and great pictures. Going to try and install mine today if the weather gets over 70*. Will be adding another white one to the list. First time seeing a tinted spoiler. Thought they only came color matched. Awesome looking job guys

Thanks for all the advice. Went outside today and washed the back glass with soap and water to get the dirt off. Followed up with Windex and newspaper. Came back with alcohol pads with the glass hot since it was 78 and the sun right on top of it. Centered the spoiler and took my time pushing it snug against the rear of the roof and then down. Butted up perfect the entire way across.
I did use advice from another thread and removed the tape it came with. Used loctite from Walmart. Two even strips covered the wing perfect. Purchased the 1 in and 3/4 inch rolls. The hot glass pulled it down for a great hold. Lifted on the edge and it wouldn't budge.

The paint looked to be a perfect match until I put it next to the car. Spoiler is actually brighter but the pearl matches. Maybe once the sun fades it a tad and a few washes it will blend in. Defintely changed the look of the car and I like it

Thanks. It was the subtlety I was going for with the black blending in with the dark glass.
Looking good. I see you installed it flush with the roof. I opted to preserve the water drain channel and installed mine flush with the leading edge of the rear glass. It was easier to get away with since they are both black and the gap doesn't show.

I went with bmwoemshop from ebay ~ about 85 bucks shipped.
My car is graphite luster and they did a great job with matching it and considering they are overseas I was surpised how well they communicated with me throughout the purchase.
What I did to install it alone was get it lined up and then just tape the top edge to the roof with the blue painters tape. Then I flipped it up like a hinge on to the top of the car and applied the silicone and removed the tape. Then I carefully flipped it back down and pressed it into place. The tape helped to keep the alignment while I applied the glue an removed the backing from the doublesided tape.

I thought about going to the top of the glass but figured the gap would throw off the look since its white. Tried to make it seem like it was seamless. Everyone likes the way it came out. Had the car serviced today and many complimented the visor. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Not even the 3 hours of removing the cheap tape off the visor.

Personally I just don't see this as worthy of my hard earned money. There is no gain in speed/downforce and I think the only 4G it looks good on is the non-tech without the rear trunk spoiler.

^You have missed the point. I'd rather spend he $85 on a nice dinner with my girl than blow it on useless body cladding. In fact, I challenge anyone to show me the benifits this roof spolier provides, as there is little to no air touching the vehicle at that point on the car. Furthermore, the body kits sold for this vehicle actually create more drag and make the car SLOWER.

^I think you missed the point. Why not take your girl out to a nice dinner and buy the spoiler? For some people $85 is nothing to them. The guy likes the look of it and never said he is looking for speed. Plus, lets be honest, he owns a newer TL, so I am sure he is well off enough.

Don't think anyone cares how you think they look. I purchased it for my personal taste because I like the way it looks. Since my women that I deal with all cook I don't have to buy dinners . The purpose of working is to have what you want in life.
Why should anyone justify to you why and how they spend their money. Thread is for those with roof spoilers not those that are upset at what others are doing. Don't get upset when your girl asks you why don't you have one. I mean I'm just saying

lol i didnt buy one either.. found that the center line on the car just does not add up with the rear roof spoiler.... i dont drive fast enough for the kit to make my car slower..
on the side note.. $85 is friggen expensive for just two people.. maybe im a cheapskate...

It has been my experience that individuals who react in such a manner as you^, typically have some sort of hang-up themselves regarding the issue they are responding to with such vigor.
I perfer Nissan "Cup Noodles" in any case.

Come on guys, this is no different than adding an OEM spoiler. Our cars are not nearly fast enough to worry about aerodynamics from something like this. Also what's all this about save your money and that's expensive ($85?), if any of us had any brains at all about money we wouldn't even be on this forum, everyone knows modifying cars isn't a sound investment.

In most cases if it doesn't make the car go, corner or stop faster, it's a waste of money. There are a few exceptions such as HiD headlight conversions which make the vehicle safer to drive at night and other things like tint, 3M clear bra or a car cover to protect the interior or paint...etc.
Otherwise crap like this is just a good excuse to "mod" your car without getting your fingernails dirty.

Also, if you think adding a -very- subtle roofspoiler is rice.... Oh man, /r/shittycarmods would like a word with you.

Touched a few nerves here, don't give a fuck.
Somewhere along the line cars have become a commodity to you and not a sport/transportation.
