Infiniti Q50 vs TLX
Well the new Infiniti G37 replacement was released today at the Detroit Auto Show.. I gotta say I'm really impressed! I like the look of the car. Interior wise it looks like it went the way of the RLX with two LCD screens. I assume one controlling the NAVI and the other Music/Air Settings.. Wonder if the TLX with also have the two screens set up. The redesign on the TLX better be close to amazing to not sway many previous TL owners to to Infiniti.. Thoughts?

Well, for starters, I find it better looking than the TL.
I'm one of those former Acura owners now sporting an Infiniti.

+1. I remember talking to my wife about the Infiniti G37. She asked why I didn't like it. I said the front end looks like a whale. Ironically, I love the front end of the TL. The back-end is a little iffy to me.

We bought a '13 Accord EX sedan for my wife. It's an awesome car for (well) under 25K. Assuming the new TLX is based on this platform, it will more than compete with the new Infiniti I believe.

I just looked at pics of the Q50 and like the exterior a lot - but I have to say I like the interior (on the whole) of my TL more...

The new Q50 is definitely an improvement over the old G. I can't say I ever looked at the G37 and said, 'I'd like to own that'...just too bland for me. My brother has one and yes, the handling is probably lighter and more nimble than the TL but I think they are oranges and apples. The TL is a much bigger and heavier car. The G (and the BMW 3 series they used as a benchmark) is a small car which feels cramped. The TL is not..it's closer to the M or 5 series in terms of size. I'd say the closest competitor to the TL is the Maxima, which is totally underwhelming. Would I rather own a Q? Who knows. I can't say the interior photos blew me away. Nice job but I'm not trading in my TL for it yet.
I'll be interested to see what Acura has up their sleeve for their next act.

Infiniti's hybrid system is LAME.
It's the same one thats in the M35h hybrid. It is not torque vectoring.
Acura's Sport Hybrid All Wheel Drive, with Torque vectoring will blow it away. haha. Acura upped it's game!

6G TLX-S
Only if the Sport-Hybrid SH-AWD system makes it into the TLX model line.

I like the exterior looks of the Q50; still undecided on the front. The interior left me a little cold. Most disappointing, however, is that evidently it will not be offered with a 6MT. I hope I'm wrong, but the write-ups I read last evening do not mention a MT option.

Detroit Auto Show: Hyundai Genesis concept hints at design direction
"Hyundai says the HCD-14 concept eliminates the need for conventional buttons and knobs for functions such as climate control, the stereo and the navigation system. Instead, it tracks the driver's eye movements and hand gestures and works with a heads-up display to keep the driver's eyes on the road at all times. But look past all the gimmickry on the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept and you'll see elements of reality that are headed to the company's next vehicle."

To be fair to Nissan/Infiniti...I think they came up with that grille style awhile ago. Check out the 2009 Essence concept...it had it already.

Well, now we just wait for the TL(x) to show up. We know what the G(Q) is, and the new face of the IS, now we need a new TL to trump them all. Honestly, the MDX is probably my future, I'm finding the TL's lack of space more and more bothersome in my routine activities

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
So the trend of over exaggerated front continue for Japanese automakes...
This new one on the Infiniti Q50 look IMHO like a bloated angry puffer fish with a dog snout. Doesn't excite me. At least the 4G TL's look "edgy and intriguing" IMHO, and its front exterior can be improved on subjectively by painting the grill or replacing it with a RonJon grill. Not much you can do with Infiniti's.
I'm more interested in knowing what type of AWD system it has, if the interior is more comfy and less confined than the current G37, and if it offers a manual tranny with its AWD model.

I did not mention the TL looked any better, I wish it were better. However the new GQ350..wait what...?
Yea brands/concepts will always be subjective, opinions even more so. My TL is only one of my cars, however you say it, I like it.

I don't get these Japanese luxury car makers. The lurch from design to design. I don't like the new Q. I don't like the new IS. Acura messed up big time with the 4G TL and tamed it down for 2012 and up. We'll see what they do with the new TLX.

I like it. A bit of Lexus up front, with the infinity grill look. I was going to wait for the new G before purchasing my TL but could not resist the new car bug so went for the TL. Since there will be no 6 speed manual I am glad I went for my TL.

Looks slick imo. I'd be tempted to buy only if the interior quality is improved (Acura quality) and Acura screws up the next iteration of the TL.
After checking out the Q50 pics I went and sat in my TL to compare. I have to say that our car still stands up well for a 4 year old car but its about time - one more year before I get serious about a new car.

I love Infiniti styling, but hate their electronics. Now the Q50 looks like it is offering some cool stuff. The wild card is is the TLX, we don't know if Acura is moving the TLX too down segment. With the ILX not doing well they can't afford to dump the TSX and have the TLX start over $40K. If they move the TLX too far down segment then they will not be able to compete with a loaded Q50. My hunch is we'll see TLX with a 4cyl and then one witha 6 DI I just hope they don't do what they did to the RDX and dump SH-AWD and put some basic AWD in it. The TLX has the possibility to be a really sweet car, big yet nimble like the 3G TL. I really want an RLX, but with the AWD RLX likely pushing $65K I am struggling to take the leap with the bland styling. If the TLX looks like the C Concept and come in AWD and and Advance that maybe even offers a Krell say for around $50K then I might just jump on that!
