How rare is Mayan Bronze?
#2
If you want one, but can't find one, just order one. I ordered mine in late February. I picked it up the last week of March. I was skeptical it wasn't one already allocated to the dealer; but the plaque on the door confirms March 2010 build. ...and don't let any dealer convince you a good deal can only be received on an in-stock vehicle. Be firm with your price and stick to your guns. Closing a guaranteed sale a month from now is better than you walking away today. If MBM is that important to you, you can wait a few weeks. Otherwise, enjoy your black or silver TL...

It is interesting because when you calculate the price of a TL on Edmunds, you will see that Mayan Bronze adds over $100 in price due to the demand of this color (at least in my zip code) while white, gray, silver, black all add $0 to the price.

It gets a even a little harder when you want the umber interior with it.... But there out there you may have to travel a few miles to get it... But as some have said, stick to a price that you want and then order if all else fails... My new 2010 Mayan/Umber SH-AWD came from a dealer about 90 miles away from where I bought it... Dealer trade and there you have it...

For 2010, you can only get Mayan Bronze with the umber interior for the SH-AWD models. Interestingly, you can only get ebony with the Mayan Bronze SH-AWD cars in Canada.

I am just pointing out a fact.
Also, I am responding to an earlier poster who said that it's even harder to get the umber interior with the Mayan Bronze - actually, for 2010, with the SH-AWD version, you can only get the umber interior with Mayan Bronze. For the 2009 model year though, I believe you could have got either the ebony or umber interior with Mayan Bronze...
Nothing more than trivial facts!

Actually-- when it actually got down to the colors, I knew I had to have the Mayan/ Umber combo with the 6speed. My Dealer did not stock any manuals, and the Internet Mgr advised me that there were only 2 MYM in N CA at that time -- so I grabbed it. I have no reason to doubt what he told me. Stick to your price and Dealer trade is def the way to go.

I actually went to the dealer looking for a blue (whatever that is) with the ebony interior. They didn't have it in stock so I looked at the list of cars they did have available with the book of swatches right next to me. Bronze and umber made me pause and I thought about it and realized that might make a really good combination. They drove it over from their storage lot and let me look and I was in love. It's pretty much the best combination I've seen in a car and it still gets compliments (mostly for the interior since everyone thinks the exterior is just "brown" or "maroon" at first glance).

Bronze/umber is definitely a sweet combo. Nobody had one around here at the time, so I went with my other top choice, CBP. (Of course, a MBM/Umber 6-speed showed up a few weeks later).

After 4 months of ownership, I am loving my MBM and umber combo more and more!
So far, I have only seen another ONE like this around here.... plenty of CBP and silver though.

I have owned a 2010 Mayan Bronze SH-AWD since January. I love the fact it is such a rare color. Numerous people have commented how great it looks and asked what color it is called. It is great to have a unique color on a mass produced vehicle.
