Recently moved from NJ to OH and noticed I receive more compliments in OH.... but then again, I received none in NJ since it's very common.

In OH, you see a lot of Fords and Chevys so it's "new" the folks. They think I'm a "baller" since it's one of the few cars that's less than 5 years old. I see a lot of older luxury cars with rims and rusts.

I've had my 2010 TL for just a few days now and I've had quite a few compliments already... at the gas station, at a restaurant, at a party. I've only seen a couple TLs in town, and not many Acuras besides SUVs. Apparently, she stands out.

That's very true about Ohio, the only place I see newer cars regularly over there is in Colombus.

Something happened yesterday that made me think of this thread. I let a family of tourists cross the street the other day and they looked to be European, the father and son stopped at the curb and gawked and pointed at the car (in a positive way) as if it was a Ferrari or something. They seemed to like the car but probably have never seen an Acura before since they don't sell them in Europe. It was pretty funny.

Yesterday I was adjusting my toe. I was sitting at the end of my neighborhood waiting for my chance to pull out onto the street. Right as I made the turn a teen in a crushed slug bug rolls by with his thumb up. Hadn't even drove 10ft lol. Nice to get some love even when the cars been sitting for the past couple weeks collecting pollen. Looks like it's black with brown freckles lol but he couldn't tell.

Not that I seek the compliments, but I get the quite frequently. I have had people ask to take a peek at the interior when they notice the umber, I never heard anything negative. Most women ask can they sit on the peanut butter leather, crazy.

Not much compliments on the styling. But I have had a few people @ autoX events saying that "How does that boat pivot around the corner like a RWD?"

Thank you. I don't remember the last time I got a compliment on my car...not because it hasn't happened, but because it's not important enough for me to take note of.

I just got back from a short vacation, where I was driving my wife's car for 10 days. Getting back home, and behind the wheel of my car, gave me a big smile on my face. That, to me, is worth a heckuva lot more that any compliments I might possible receive.

Besides, I'm generally disinterested in the thoughts and opinions of anyone I don't know. So there's that, too.

Compliment from an 18-year old young women

The best compliment was from an 18-year old hottie, a friend of my sons, came into our house and said my 2011 black TL was her favorite. The look from my wife was priceless. The dark tint and new wax helps.

Compliment Part II

My family sat down for a celebration meal at our favorite restaurant and I forgot the camera. Walking back to my TL, found it was nose to nose with a newer black TSX. A yuppie couple in their 30's was stepping out of the TSX. The woman asked if my car was the same as theirs. I hit the FOB twice which lowered all the windows and showed off my umber interior. She smiled at me as I came into view and said, "guess not".

When I was in Seattle-Tacoma area got HELLA complements. Especially with the ladies. But my JDM Integra got more love at the time. Only had the car 2 months there before I left. Now here in Toronto I get love to especially from Older folks and the ladies. Especially the females. Its funny the looks I get from everyone else when I get out and they see who driving it tho. Ain't wanna pull the race card but oh well lol.

In fact, getting ready to go give it a wax job. I feel the love coming!! ;-)

This message fits what I would have written exactly, so I will just quote yours LOL

Although the other day someone in a parking lot did tell me they loved the look of the car / tint / wheels combination, said it was very classy (wasn't the look I was going for but I'll take it). Saw an old man in a pickup cricking his neck next to me at a stop light trying to read the cap on my wheel the other day, that gave me a smile too.

RDX got more compliments than the TL. Honesty there are some things on the
'09 that needed some deletes...like the tacky silver trim on the inside of the head/taillights. If I had a little extra cash I would trade them out for the blacked out ones from the MMC.

My neighbours and family always commented on how nice my TL was, but never once in almost a year and a half did a stranger ever comment on it (and I detailed it every few days).

I used to get a lot of comments on the interior though whenever I'd have a passenger in it.

Man, I really miss my TL... (I sold it when I got a 2014 Accord Sport as a company vehicle) and now I'm switching jobs so I just picked up a pearl white 2014 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL. It's a nice car with lots of tech but it's no TL.
