How much timing advance at WOT?

Hi. I’m curious how much total timing advance one should see at WOT on the 3.7. I’m trying to find the normal range for timing advance. I’ve searched but been able to find the answer.

I can tell you tomorrow. I have a ScanGauge 3 hooked up at all times, and that's one parameter that I monitor.

That’s awesome thank you. What fuel grade do you run (91, 92, 93)? Stock factory tune? Any mods?

Fuel will always be 93 octane, premium. The car is bone stock, with the factory tune. I don't intend to modify my 3.7L SH-AWD's since performance won't be affected like a turbocharged vehicle. I probably won't be able to tell you the timing information until I get back home tonight. I'll do a couple of WOT's on my way to work today.

Looking forward to your timing numbers. We can only get 91/92 here so I was just curious on what grade of premium you have in your area. Thanks!

Alright, well, I have the results from my observation today:

1) During normal cruising, meaning light load, the ignition timing hovers right around +40 degrees.
2) When you're in gear, and off throttle (0%), the ignition timing hovers around -5 to -10 degrees.
3) The more the engine load increases, the ignition timing decreases. So, from cruising at +40, it begins decreasing towards 0 as more throttle is applied.
4) During the 4 WOT's that I did from ~3,000 RPM, ignition timing began around +8 and increased to around +15 by redline.

This was in my 6MT SH-AWD. I hope it helps you in determining how your car is running.
