How can I tell what type of tint is on my car ?
 

Hi guys, I bought, my car used and it came tinted. I was wondering if my tint is Ceramic, dye or semi metallic. It looks great, but just wondering what it is.

Taking my Wife's 08 base TL in for 35% Llmar CTX on Monday...

I had a similar question bc I want to make sure it's CTX and not regular ATX (CTX is Ceramic)

If you compare them side by side, the CTX Ceramic will be noticeably more 'black' than the ATX dyed.

They're both the same percentage, but the CTX just looks black whereas ATX looks more purpley-black.

Your best chance is to bring it to a tinting shop. They might be able to tell you.

I would say my tint definitely looks BLACK. Maybe its ceramic, I dunno.

ceramic will give off a silver mirror reflective finish almost like a mirror in certain lighting situations.
