High Mileage '12 TL Advance
Hi Guys,
Considering a 2012 TL 2WD Advance with 150,000 miles. Upgrading from an '09 TSX as I want some additional room in the backseat for clients. How concerned would you be about the mileage and what would you pay? Looks like regular maintenance was performed at local Acura dealership every 7500-10000 miles. Really want to buy it but concerned about the mileage.
Thanks!

I mean the car does well and reliability on consumer reports is excellent, I'd just make sure that all the acura scheduled maintenance was done, some of those high mileage services cost a couple grand

Keep looking. High miles are high miles no matter how young the car is.
No Warranty and you wont even be able to purchase one due to the +100K on the ODO

Way too many miles for $15k. I would have a hard time convincing myself to pay $10k for it...

Good call. No way in hell should you consider such a recent model car with such high mileage. Hell, as I am shopping for a second vehicle I tend to stay away from cars that are even 5+ years old with higher mileage than they should have. Point blank, you should only consider a used car that was driven 12-15k miles per year and well maintained. Yes Acura is known for reliability, but as someone stater earlier, high miles are high miles (especially on a 3 year old car) and you're bound to have major repairs sooner rather than later.

My father was looking for a second car (Mercedes SUV) to keep at our cabin, and the used car salesman said "100k miles is nothing on these cars these days". They were asking a ton of money for a couple of high mileage pieces on their lot.
The same dealership offered him next to nothing (on a new car trade) for his perfect 2011 E350 with 105k.
Go figure...

I don't necessarily agree with everyone on this. Honda/Acura's are known for their longevity. Granted, a lot of tech that "could" go wrong but with the $$ he's saving that could sure fix a lot of things "IF" they did break. And a two year old car with 150K means tons of highway miles, by far the EASIEST miles you can put on a car as far as wear goes. Also, you're buying it near the bottom of its value. If you drove it for 5 years and put 75000 miles on it it'd still be worth $10k probably. Now your cost per miles have dropped way down. Everyone told me I was crazy for buying my son a Civic with 252,000 highway miles on it. He drove it for 4 years, put 60K more miles on it and ultimately sold it for more than I paid for it, with minimal maintenance.
