Headlight Washer

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if there is any other thread related to this issue. I couldn't find anything related this on acurazine under TL 2009-2014 as well on google.

I bought 2012 TL w/ Tech package, and my car doesn't have the headlight washers.

So i was wondering if it is possible to install the headlight washers.

If anyone tried to install before or anyone have any information please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

TL's destined for the Canadian market has the headlight washer as standard equipment. Perhaps your car is from the American market.

I am sure you can add it but factor in the cost of the parts (2 washer units, bumper, reservoir hoses, clamps, wire harness etc.) and it probably won't be worth it. If you can find a TL that is at the wreckers then you could purchase the parts.

Also consider that the washer reservoir is over twice the size in Canadian models...unless you switch that out as well, you'll be refilling much more often.

I don't want to discourage you, but I would think long and hard before taking on this mod. I love my washers, particularly in the winter. But I'm not certain I'd add them after the fact.

Thanks for the information but my car is a Canadian version. It is originally purchased from Burlington, Ontario. As you mentioned the Canadian market has the headlight washer as standard equipment, i don't know why my car doesn't have the washers.

I will try to look for parts in wreckers and i might modify the bumpers if i got a good deal on washer stuff.

Isn't it there is an extra switch to use washers only.

Good point...must be FWD, as only the SH-AWD (Canadian) have the light washers.

It is FWD... I have seen some SH-AWD Canadian models w/o washers.

I'm not sure if washers are a part of some other packages or they are for up-north cars. Since, up north they have heavy snow and bad weather than GTA.

I've seen stranger things in Canadian models such as 2012 rear bumpers and exhaust tips on 2011 FWD models.

I have the washers and have no idea if they are of any benefit. Never checked the before/after. Are you concerned about not getting enough light through? It's not worth it IMO. Mostly unnecessary unless you can do it for cheap (unlikely).

I know you guys up there get tons of snow, but I am in the Northeast US and I do fine without the washer... altho there were couple of times when I wished I had it.

Light is fine, i just wanted to add those as a summer project. Like i dont really need them. I keep the car clean all the time.

yeah, i think one of the reason is if the car is sold in 2012 but built in 2011

The 2012 rear bumper and exhaust is probably the 2011.5 model. Before the released the 2012. I've seen a few around my area as well.

I, for one, would not want to buy a car where the last owner manually installed something like headlight washers. If you were to ever sell it, I'd hope you'd be honest with potential buyers.

Headlight washer is for SH-AWD only and FWD exhausts tips and fog lights are different for 2009-2011 if you compare it to AWD.
