Have you noticed that Acura has picked up its advertising? I noticed their commercial are running more frequently for the TL, TSX, and the MDX. Especially watching Sunday night football.

Since the 2012 TL has been out, sales have gone down every month on the basis of YTD totals. There have been other factors besides the car itself but it hasn't seen a sales lift since the MMC. Possible supply issues, the market went a little more sour over the last few months, they were not being as agressive in discounts and incentives, and the rates also picked up.
Perhaps more importantly, the car has moved even more upmarket in short period of time and so has the pricing with the refinements and additions, including the advance package. IMO that has been the biggest factor with this gen as a whole and the MMC.
I see any number of the 4G's on a daily basis living in a so called affluent (rip-off) area of the north east, a month back I counted 11 on a single 30 min commute one way and rarely ever spot a 3G when they used to be one on every corner a few years back. Still, I have only seen one 2012 on the road. It's true these small sample sizes and visual observations don't mean much but the MMC hasn't really helped anything.
I expected that of the advance models and also the AWD's but the FWD has gained so much and has made the biggest strides while many of it's direct FWD luxury mid size sedan competitors at the same price point has seen a lot more success. Honestly, I think the Accord and TSX have become much more similar to the FWD TL compared to the past generations and for less money, maybe with everything going on, they have become the more attractive option overall.
I know that's not exclusive to Honda/Acura but their case might be the worst. The Accord is full sized and it's not like the TSX is a small compact, it's almost a mid and they all basically available with the same FWD platform with most of the same available engines or a similar enough variant.
