Got a steering wheel question for y'all...

I think I may have asked this question in another thread but I'm not sure, I searched and found nothing that help me or directed me. If everybody could chime in I would be very thankful !

Do your steering wheels sit straight most of the time? I'm not talking about un even roads and such, mostly just the neutral position of your wheel throughout the day. I have had many problems since day one, and just need clarification if our car likes to "track straight". Mine does not, and never has. it either sits a little to the left or drifts to the right when the wheel is dead on straight. Its been in 3 times for alignments and such @ 1800mi. ( I have another thread on my possible TL-emon)

Thanks in Advance guys!

So the dealer was not able to duplicate the problem when they drove it? Or do they just say that they cant find anything wrong when its up on the lift?

On a perfectly flat and straight road, the steering wheel should be centered and the car should "track dead straight".

In your case, check if all the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. Also, one of more tires could be defective too.

Also, keep in mind that certain roads, like highways / interstates, will have a designed crown or slope to them. The steering in most cars like the Acura will be tight enough that if you are on one side of the crown you will see drift that direction.

Were you able to find out why there was two blown struts at 114 miles? that would be a red flag and perhaps indicate that the car had some abuse/neglect during transportation or during delivery to you.

I hope you can get it resolved, good luck.

The warranty on a 2012 new TL should cover this - besides the fact that they should be able to find the problem on your first visit to the service dept, sorry for your troubles.

Ive been to 2 dealers, bout to go to keys as my 3rd.

I know, I LOVE the 4th gen, they can't seem to figure out what's wrong with the steering, so they just keep saying its normal, but they and I know it's not. the lemon law attorneys I contacted haven't gotten back to me as of yet. Anybody know anyone in so cal?

Got a promising call back from 1 attorney. He thinks I halve a fraud case even above the lemon law since they gave much conflicting information and paperwork . Huuzzaahh!!
