Got my new 2013 TL Tech last Saturday

Hello Acurazine,
I've been reading this forum a lot. Very informative.
I finally pulled the trigger to trade in my 2008 BMW 528 for a 2013 TL Tech, white with parchment interior. Got a really good price, beat truecar price by a large margin, and the conquest rebate and 0.9% APR made it even more sweet.
I owned a G37S sedan when it first came out. I liked that car but it was getting a lot of road noise and too rough in the backseat. Not to mention, the 7AT shifted kind of weird. The BMW solved all those problems but I decided to let it go because the warranty was about to run out. IMO it was the best car to drive but obviously had it own issues: battery replaced, valve cover gasket leak, hydraulic lifters TSB, belt tensioner. All under CPO warranty but still.
The TL FWD feels just right for me. Not too rough (like the AWD) but not too soft. Get good gas mileage. Comfortable and big enough for passengers. I plan to keep this car for at least 6 years/120K miles.
I also looked at some used 2012 ES350 (don't like the new ES350) but they asked too much for those. Some were even more expensive than new. 2013 GS350 is nice but kind of out of my budge for now. F30 3 series ride surprising nice and quiet but keeping it to 100K miles seem like a expensive move. I was thinking to wait for the new IS350 and Q50 but the current incentives and 1st year model problems shy me way from those.

Congrats on the new TL. I just pulled the trigger too but opted for the AWD. Came from a BMW 325 Conv. Gave that to my wife and she loves it... But like you, had MANY parts replaced under warranty. My wife drives much fewer miles than I do so hopefully we won't have to sink too much into it over the next few years. I am loving the TL. I teetered between the FWD and AWD and finally went with the AWD. Best of luck with your new car.
Enjoy!

You are right about BMWs - the less you drive, the more reliable it seems. But the more miles, the worse it gets. We put about 35K miles in 2 years and those were the problems we had. I had an inspection done at an indy just before I traded it in. They said the transmission oil pan was leaking very little but something I had to take care if I were to keep the car. They also mentioned to re-haul the whole cooling system if I wanted to keep it over 100K miles.

White has a luxurious and classy look. I am going to add windows tint in a couple of days.

I am also on myG37 forum and know G37/370z quite well. Let me know if you guys want to learn more about Infinitis from an owner's perspective.

Congratulations. White with the parchment interior looks great.

Congrats on your new ride. Last 3 cars I considered a G37 each time but alway ended up with a TL...no regrets. I just picked up a 2013 AWD....Black. I have become a car wahing machine. After driving an 08 silver and an 11 polished metal I kind of forgot about the cleaning routine for a black car lol. When clean though what an awesome looking car.

Wow, such a warm welcome! You guys make me feel great about my purchase decision ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Yeah, the G37 is definitely not for everyone. It's a blast to drive but needs more refinement. I think the new Q50 is supposed to fix that as the powertrain remains the same. When I had my G in black, I literally washed it every weekend unless it was going to rain. So yeah ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The FX50S is truly a beast. I am thinking to pick up the FX37 next year for wife though. We both like the FX very much.

I just leased a 2013 FWD Advanced model, same BWP but with the black interior. The outside stays clean but I can tell the inside will need to be cleaned often, it gets dusty quickly. You probably have the easiest color combination to keep clean lol.
I came from a Toyota Avalon and I'm amazed how smooth and quiet this TL is, considering all the reviews saying otherwise. I don't find the suspension any rougher than my Avalon and it feels about as quiet on the highway.
I bought some DVD-A's and now I'm so spoiled by the sound quality that I can't listen to CD's or MP3's anymore. I also won't subscribe to XM because that seems to sound worse than anything.

Congrats! Generally speaking white is my favorite color (non-color?) on most vehicles and I have had quite a number of white vehicles myself. When we were shopping around to replace my wife's 2000 Monterey Blue TL I had tried to talk her into the white but she really wanted a color again. Your white will really look great with a subtle window tinting.

Overall the 2013 TL is quieter than most older Acuras I've known.

But to be honest, the BMW 5 series (either E60 or F10) absorb bumps and road imperfections better while still maintain good handling. It's the BMW's strength. But it comes with a 15K-20K premium and definitely much more expensive to own and maintain so I am not complain at all.

I'm also tempted to swap the current HX MXM4s with the new Primacy MXM4 hoping to get even more smooth and quieter ride. What are people's thoughts on this? Are the stock tires that bad compare to the Primacy MXM4?

If you you are driving to the extremes then the stock tires may not be good for you, but if you are not throwing the car into turns or hard barking all the time I find the stock Michelins acceptable.

I was always fine with the stock Michelins on all my TL's even my AWD which I would throw in turns and the tires took it, try they have a limit, but for most normal driving the stock Michelins are better than what most other makers put on their cars.

Interior space is always relative...Its based on how tall and big you are. For me, I am fairly tall and slim and I find the TL not too bad but this weekend, I had a chance to drive an ILX and loved the size of the car as far as interior space. If they made the ILX with the 2.4L (auto), I'd find that car a fun little car. That being said, the interior looked so much cheaper than my TL....
