Got a '09 TL, whats out there?

Hello,

Just picked up a CPO 09 TL and looking to see whats out there for this car. I pick the car up on friday after they detail it. so I got an itch to mod this one out. I've seen the RJ kit, and im assuming the A spec kit for the car, just curious if theres more out there including performance parts. Just started lurking today and ive seen some impressive cars so it'll be cool to see what i can learn. This will be my weekend cruiser since i have 2 other cars. so im just trying to do a clean look and wheels with a simple kit. Hopefully I can do something tasteful lol.

here are my other 2 cars.

My current weekend cruiser is a 09 Lexus ISF and so far ive only done intake and Ventross CF Kit and JoeZ CF Tips. Next is wheels and a drop.

My daily is a 2002 Mitsu Galant which ive done a JDM VR4 Galant exterior conversion. EVO IX recaros dropped on D2 coilovers and Work XD-9's.

The other car in the back was a project car but ill probably trash it. 86 alfa romeo spider that i was thinking of restoring but i havent touched it in years lol.

I wish it was a sh awd but unfortunately the F's car payment didn't give me that option lol. I got a really good deal on the tl so I can't complain. I wasn't even looking at a 4th gen, was looking at 3gen type s but the miles were too high.

There's also Ron Grille. Maybe color match the grille? Painting the housing of your head/tail lights.

Welcome to AZ - there is a wealth of knowledge in the Performance Parts & Modifications section - I'm sure you'll find a TON of mods and ideas in there.

definitely going to do something about that grille. either get the RJ grille or paint the stock one. Thing sticks out like a soar thumb.

Thanks man! I definitely dont know where to start with this car. I have literally only seen one 4gen dropped with wheels in San Diego, tons of 3gen.

Tuning options are harder to come by than unmolested DSM trannies. Welcome.

For about 3k you can fully bolt it up for about 40-50 hp gains. Can't Dyno it to prove it though....

Welcome Drone and congrats on your new ride. I always suggest tints as a first mod for these cars. Plus, you definitely can't go wrong with RonJon's Aero Kit, nose or wheels.

Look around the site some more, especially the Photo Section...you'll get lots of ideas.

Cold Air Intake != Short Ram Intake

There is only the SRI available for the TL at this point - hopefully CT Engineering comes out with their IceBox CAI sometime this year.

lol yeah I'm going to do that. gonna invest in some coilovers since they are actually pretty good prices. the coilover for the F are 2400...actually everythin for that car starts at 1k and up =(. was thinking an intake too but I don't like the open element look anymore so I'll probably get a drop in filter.

Drop ins are nice, u feel the extra pep, with the Sri I really didn't notice much improvement until I did the full exhaust, so spending $200+ on an intake for a car you don't plan on doing alot of performance mods to is kinda pointless. Since your fwd, I'd be curious to see what an aggressive stagger would look like ...
