To gloss or not to gloss...

I pulled the trigger on the Rotora 6 piston/4 piston setup in black with the cross drilled rotors. Do I go with the gloss black or the matte (anodized) black? Bear in mind that I specifically requested no silk screening or engraving of the Rotora logo. I don't want them to scream "steal me" but I want them to look nice.
Thanks

Nice. Both look pretty sweet but I prefer the matte personally.

I admit they do look more "race car". I'm going to ask the vendor if these are hard anodized or just regular.

They are hard anodized. This helps because I have parts regular anodized and they scratch SO easily.

I would say matte bc u can get away with having a
little brake dust on them and not notice. Both look great.

My car is the same color as this Merc. Actually, my wheels are the same color as well. I think this looks pretty tough (these look hard anodized as well).

I'm sure it's happened before, but how often do brake calipers get stolen?

It's the whole car that will get stolen for the BBK. At almost 5K it is not a cheap mod and it may attract the wrong type of attention.

I am sure that most guys (or maybe I am alone ) who have a modded car with expensive wheels, Stereo, etc feel this way and is particularly careful of where they park or leave the car especially for prolonged periods.

Its a good point that the BBK may draw that unwanted attention, especially to a person who knows what their looking at and the value of said BBK. But I think sexy wheels draw more attention than the BBK. Almost on a daily basis someone will wave at me and give me a thumbs up while im driving around. Today it was some young guy in a civic si, yesterday it was a guy driving a fedex truck. One time when I was washing it, the mailman came by and was like hey so this is who drives this car and wanted to talk to me about it.

I am most worried about parking it somewhere overnight and coming outside in the morning to find it on blocks with the wheels gone. And shit my wheels aren't even that nice. I mean they aren't HRE, Volk or Work wheels.

So OEM wheels + non shiny brakes = not that much attention (hopefully). If I want attention, I'll jump in the red car. ;-)

The brakes will be here tomorrow. Rotora sent me some pictures in advance. Pretty sweet!

I've only had a chance to drive from the shop back to work. The brakes are smooth, quiet, and feel "authoritative". This is, the more you put the pedal down, the more they grab. Smooth transition, but they don't feel like they are going to "run out of gas" as you put the pedal down like the OEM brakes. With a trunk full of OEM brake parts, I couldn't mash the brake pedal down, but I have no doubt that the car will stop on a dime. The brake bias is perfect. These feel exactly like the $5,000.00 Brembo "Indy car" front brakes I purchased for my NSX.
I'll take some better pictures when I have a moment.

I can pretty much relate to all you said about the brakes

I know that I mentioned this to you but once again .....the bed in process is important, follow it exactly as described and you will be a happy camper !!

I made sure that the shop that installed the brakes went through the bedding procedure as outlined in the instructions.
