If only we could have the DTR as the halo and a dual bi-xenon setup.

I'm driving a ZDX loaner right now and I wonder what the specs are on their lights. I know it's bi-xenon... looks like a 3" lens too.

I am sure if you work with the wiring you can make the halos work as DRLs. As far as dual bi-xenon set up goes. There is ample room inside the headlights to swap the OEM single xenon projector with a pair of bi-xenon projectors. The only problem is that the OEM projectors use a very aggressive foreground cut off/limiter since it sits too far back in the headlight. A conventional bi-xenon projector without the foreground limiter will not only cause glare problems since the extra light will hit the bottom part of the headlight in front of the projectors but also can burn that area over time.

Even with the 3G, I personally rarely used my hi-beams. I think a better idea would be to swap out the OEM projector with a set of S2k or other better projectors such as SC430, S2K-R etc.

Also, you asked as to how the colormatched headlights will look on WDP.

Thanks for the feedback. I use my highbeams quite abit on the 3G even more so when I had the ZKW's and 85122+ bulbs. Driving through winding country roads in the early AM one can never be to cautious.

That being said... I've done some further research. The S2000, and the TSX project should work fine - both providing an upgrade over the stock projector.... depending on the desired results (cutoff, modablity, width of beam etc)

However, I came across a hybrid setup that really has me intrigued. Do you know we have the space to fit this setup?

http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...l=1#post282421

I love the width this setup produces, and the intensity is fantastic.

At the end of the day if I'm going to change the projectors, I'd love to have a bi xenon setup with a modified foreground limiter. From what I've read things can be done with these projectors to get them to perform the way you want. While yes the stock 4G TL projector and lens may sit far back... that doesn't prevent anything - it might just need tweaking.

Your thoughts?

Thank you for the pm. I just learned I can't reply to any pm's yet. I wrote to the email you sent me and it came back undeliverable. I checked to make sure I sent it to the correct address you gave me. Could it be missing a number or letter. Could you send it to me again please?

Thank you

JnC just finished modding my heads and tails. He posted the pics in my other thread so I thought I'd post them here.

Headlights

Blacked out (Glossy Black)
Retained amber diffusers, smoked.
Silver ridges painted matte black
Clear lens swap with custom shields and custom color mod
Partially painted DRL

Tail lights

Blacked out (Glossy Black)
Smoked reflectors/diffusers

They turned out great! JnC does the best work with the best quality. I'll post pics of the car when i get them installed.

Well, here are your new ones .
These headlights are OEM replica offerings from TYC. Fit and finish is a tad poor compared to OEM but that is to be expected from aftermarket companies.

4G TL headlights
Blacked out V2 (Glossy Black)
Clear lens swap with custom cut of shields
UHP LED halos

I was in the same boat... then i screwed mine up so i had no choice..

I bought after market headlights like JnC noted for 299$ each... 600$ a pair. sent them to him and left my burnt ones in while I'm waiting..

so in my case.... I wasted money because my stock ones are ruined and I cant resell them but... someone else's case you might consider doing that - and either keeping your stock for parts or even selling your stock headlights to get the money back you pay for aftermarket +JnC power!

I went to the auto store and picked up stuff to make a decent harness like ends and tips and heat shink wirewrap... I probably didnt go the best route because I spliced onto the parking lights instead of running wire all the way back like I should have but I wired everything neatly and heat wrapped everything so theres no exposed wire or no wire that will be weak to any weather elements.

So when I hit the parking lights the halo's come on..
the neat thing is the DRLs and parking lights can both be on at the same time.. so the halo's look awesome during the day time when my yellow DRLs are on like shown in the pic above

Black outs .. maybe. But what about those who want better lens' (IE TSX swap) -- custom cutoff (blacking the back of the shield) or clearing the amber, color matching etc...

Just because the headlights are blacked from the factory, doesn't mean it fits everyone's tastes IMO

^^ Exactly. Look at the popularity of JnC on the 3G forum, lots of people use him to clear and upgrade the lenses.

TLNV - did you ever get the Mayan colormatched lights? Still considering?
