Full Brake replacement for my 2012 TL SH-AWD
Hi all I recently bought an Acura TL 2012 SH-AWD Advance with 180k Miles. Car runs great just needed some basic service. So first up was all new brakes to get rid of the pedal vibration from the warped rotors.
I purchased 4x Centric Rotors and Brake pads along with 4x new red calipers. I have the before and after shot from the front rim attached.
Everything went smooth except for the drill and tap the rotor screws that always rust solid. I really like the rotors since they are pre-painted black to minimize the rust on the center hub.

Looks good. I also have Centric Rotors with Akebono pads. I've been pretty happy with them, although I think I like Brembo's more. What pads did you get? Also Centric? Did you purchase new rotors or just paint the existing ones?

One of the perks is that they came with all new hardware, rubber boots and pins. The old calipers were rusted inside and out by the pistons. I've used Centric rotors with Akebono pads on my last few cars with great results. The painted hubs are very nice. Paint your factory calipers black with some G2 brake paint and you will easily class up the car.

I don't want to start a new thread so here is my question with regards to rear calipers:
I bought two rear calipers from AutoZone, however they are slightly off with fit and finish. Should I be concerned or not? I know its going to bug me for a bit. Should I return one and ask to ship me a new one? What are the chances it will be different finish? Please see attached picture.
Thank you in advance.

Since most calipers are refurbished, those types of differences aren't entirely out of the ordinary. From my understanding, they sandblast the old rotors (after removing pins, boots, plugs and piston), then reapply a coating. In this case, the calipers may have been refurbished by different shops and thus, have slightly different coatings.
Functionally, there's unlikely to be a difference. But if the finish bothers you, I doubt they'd have a problem getting you another one. However, there's no guarantee the next one would be the same as the other.
