Front brake pads install

So I got some power stop evolution z23-1102 and z23-1103 pads and matching rotors to replace the factory ones on my acura 2009 TL. I was able to install the rotors and now working on the pads. The new pads have clips on the sides that are not allowing me to insert them on the outside of the caliper. The inside pad fits just fine. are these the wrong pads? Or can I remove that clip some how? (Seems wrong) Picture below.

this is my first break job in 20 years and want to make sure if I need to go get some new ones I'm not doing it for no reason.

thanks!

Picture of old and new pads next to each other.

I might have figured out that these pads only work with their calipers and not the factory ones. So if i wanted to use these i'd need new calipers as well. Would that be right?

The clips you're talking about, are you talking about the wear indicators? If so, those are the inside pads and the pads without the indicators are the outside pads.

i circled what i'm talking here in this picture. not sure what you call them. but notice how the 2 new pads have them and the only 1 of the old pads have one. the "clip is in the way on the outside when trying to insert it in the caliper. wondered if i could just cut it off on the outside pad somehow since it doesnt seem to be needed and causing problems installing. not sure what these are for or that they are necessary.

Yes those are the wear indicators. They are the inner pads, so on each wheel you should have one pad with the wear indicator on the inside and the outer one does not have the wear indicator.

Because the pads all have indicators on them.

Thanks for all the help and pointers!

One last thing that is bothering me a little is the clip that the break pads sit in is slightly dragging against the outside of the rotor only on my rear wheels. I pulled everything apart again tonight and verified that its what was causing the noise and got it to stop but after testing around the block its making noise again. Maybe i need to bend those clips around it a little more or even slide a thin screwdriver between them to bend it in a bit more. Any other advise on that?

Thanks!
