First time in 18 years - no acura in the garage!
We decided to trade our 2010 TL recently, so for now, no more Acura.
The intention was to keep the car indefinitely since my wife and I both liked driving it.
We drove it to FL and back 3 or 4 times and had it for 5 years putting 70,000 km on it.
But we rationalized the decision as follows.
Car had the roof rattle from day 1 which really bugged me.
Back seats don't go down so can't carry much.
Trunk opening is ridiculously small, have to work to load a golf bag in it.
Tires needed replacing ($1200)
Both side mirrors showing brown corrosion - not expensive but what the hey?
3 out of 4 TPMs leaked continuously for 5 years and are stupid expensive.
Timing belt coming up for replacement ($1200)
Both axles developed a lot of play in the inner CV joints - this was the final straw. ($2000 repair needed at Acura for both sides)
We got $10,000 for it on a trade. All figures Canadian.
And I still have my 135i 6MT for a bit of fun now and then.
Anyone want a brand new air filter ? LOL

We bought a '14 Edge SEL, 3.5L V6, a compromise selection.
Financially we could "afford" anything we liked, but having a lot of value tied up in a depreciating asset is dumb, mho.
I had in mind to possibly buy an RDX but there aren't many used ones available and they are much more expensive than the Edge.
My recent experience with the TL has soured me on Acura.
I forgot to mention that after a recent drive through a heavy rain, I found the spare wheel well under the trunk with about 2" of water in it!
Plus the salesman at the local Acura dealership was incredibly arrogant. People in customer service or sales should listen to their customers.
There aren't very many vehicles around that appeal to me to be honest.
The Edge was pristine, very low mileage, a fair price and has a V6. A long way from perfect but not bad, overall.
It's kind of depressing. I'm a traditional car guy. The engine, transmission, handling and usefulness for carrying stuff is more important to me than mod-cons like internet connectivity.
The Toronto Star recently had a so called automotive section in which they showed 37 new (2018) vehicles. I would not want to buy any of them.

Well, you surely don't have to go anywhere! Folks, like you, know this car very well, and I believe that you're an asset to the community. But, I totally understand if you don't have the desire to stick around.
Sounds like you got a great vehicle, and your decision, to do what you did, was sound. My wife, and I, are trying to figure out what vehicle to get next. We're going to keep the TL, but we need something with more utility, as well. We bought my dumb-son a Saturn Vue, with a Honda J35A3, and it's amazing how much we can do with that vehicle, over what we can do with my sedan. Love driving my Shawdy, though. Oh, and the Vue's a smallish SUV, or whatever it's called.
My best, M8!
