Factory Remote Starter Question

Hello guys I’ve been interested in the OEM remote start for my 2013 Tech Package but I’m not sure if I should buy the complete set from the dealership locally, they are asking for $500 plus and $300 just to install it. Now if I bought the parts online I could save at least $100. But my question is if I did buy the parts online do they come all individually? I’ve seen the remote start key fob listed and a remote starter attachment also. I just don’t want to purchase these both and bring it to the dealer have them say I’m missing parts. I wanna avoid that situation.

How much did you end up paying for the install? Did you have it done at a dealership or an independent shop?

It should come with instructions with the remote start.

I have one on my car. I bought it used and came with it. It's nice because it turns on Front Defrost, Heated Side/Mirror/Back & turns off Air Circulation so no exhaust will recycle into the cabin. I only carry the Remote Start Remote in the winter only.

If you run it for 10 minutes (default min time), and you go in at 15 minutes, the car is a nice temperature still.

All those features sound great. I definitely would love that. Makes the morning commute to work so much easier. For now I been leaving the key in the car with it on while I peek out the window. Lol.

Sorry Kinto - I meant by my statement - I priced out for about 380 dollars using my car as a template. Since I didnt know if your tech package manual or auto and FWD /AWD. I have one it was thrown in as free thing when I bought my car new. Sorry I could have worded it better.

It’s okay, thank you so much for the info on the parts. Unfortunately I’m going to have to get my key slot fixed before I move on with the remote starter install. When I bought this car the dealer or whoever owned the car before me damaged the key slot also known as the key holder.
