Edmunds road test review 6MT

http://www.edmunds.com/acura/tl/2010/testdrive.html

Found what I think is a new review. Sorry if it's a repost but it's new to me. The testing info and results are shared from the Insideline review from Januray but it's a different write-up from another editor.

I like this review. It echoes my own experiences with my wife's 2010 TL sh-awd/tech/6-MT.

It seems like a fair review, considering that it takes far longer than a day to realize the real difference between the BMW/Audi interiors and rides and the TL interior and ride; the TL is very fast and fun to drive. The "numb" steering hasn't bugged me, but I've driven mostly Audis previously and they're kind of known for numb steering. It isn't clear from the review why they wouldn't rate a Subaru GT 2.5 6MT above the TL using the same guidelines though - that's a nicely equipped and less expensive AWD sedan too.

Nice review. Finally an article that didnt pass too much judgement on the exterior styling. Thanks edmunds.

I've read this article before, and it's a good read . It's fair and neutral IMHO.

I have to agree with the numb steering, though the TL's steering is quick and very accurate. IMHO, esp when the steering wheel is at center, there's a slight "dead spot" where there's absolutely no feeling or play. If Acura could give us a software flash for the EPS to tighten the center spot, the steering would be even better.

My favorite comment from the article is from one of the photo's caption: "The 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD is one of the best-handling luxury performance sedans under $60,000. Yes, it's that good."

This article makes me want to learn how to drive manual again, so that I could have got the 6MT instead!!!!!

I actually read this article some time again on Edmunds.com but now they are featuring it as a new article. Isn't that interesting? Maybe Acura is pushing for some new press.... anyway, it's a great article! :-)

The only criticism I would have is that they are definitely not drag racers. :-)

Even this old man can beat their times a little bit. They had the summer tyre option, too. Those guys're just slow.
