DRL led-2012 TL

I see a couple of people have tried drl led's on the 2012 tl. Is everyone getting an error on the screen. I was planning on getting this:
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/9005-LED-Da...d_sku45_r2.htm

What are your opinions?

So you have not gotten any error message. One person mentioned he got the error. I just wanted to make sure.

Is the led light as blue as the video?
Does it match the HID headlights? Are you happy with the product?

you will probably never match your hid light.

keep in mind, your drl's turn off right when you turn on your low beams. so neither of them will be on at the same time.. its one or the other.. unless you turn on high beams.

also if your going to be using your high beams, dont bother with this.. its too dim and will not provide visibility. its not even bright enough to be considered high beams.

i got this for free so im happy. but i will never buy one of these as you loose your high beam brightness..

Do you think getting a 96smd would make it brighter?

honestly. it will never be bright as your stock halogen bulbs..

you can try 120, but it wont be nearly as bright.. its still brighter than my 68 smd one..

its all aesthetics.. its not functional.

If I were to ever to get DRL LEDs, this is on my choice:

http://www.jlclightings.com/9005-CRE.../001125-13.htm

A little bit more expensive, but I want it done right the first time.

those bulbs are specifically made only for reverse light.

if you have it for drl, its projector style so your pretty much going to have that aiming directly at whoever is looking at you.

know that its 1 smd bulb under a projector lens shooting beam forward. your headlight itself wont light up. you will only see the bulb and whatever is inside the bulb.

^ those are regular SMD LED. SMD doesn't get hot and not that expensive where as CREE LED are bit expensive, brighter, and hotter. So it have a build in heat sink. I should be getting a set of CREE/SMD LED combo for the DRL in a few days to test them out.

Are the bulbs you used the 68 SMD or the 96 SMD? Thanks again for the info.

I ordered same kit KB1Spec have and finally took the time to install today to find out the led bulb WILL NOT go into the hole. I tried hand sand to make the tip thinner to go in but no luck I ended breaking one of them. I call JLC lightning tomorrow. Have someone had any issues with the fitment.

A little update on the JLC Lightning DRL kit, I got my replacement led bulbs in 18 SMD LED and it fit perfectly. Jack is a great guy to deal with and top notch customer service. The 68 smd will not fit because is too bulky and it will not fit in the headlights. Here's photo on day light 12:00 peak time and they're bright.

I haven't try the highbeam but will try tonight. The kit is not a simple wire with resistors, it has two small ballast with relay giving out 12v output

I bought a set of these and put them in.

http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-6-led-...-pair-b-o.html

Output is actually pretty good. The bulbs have 6 CREE R5 chips on them. Site lists the output at 725 lumens. I've seen regular halogen output is around 1000 lumens in comparison.

I'll try to take some pics later and post here.

I didn't buy an led strip. The last mod I did was hid fog lights. My wedding is taking my money for upgrading my drls. I do like the below bulbs for drls. They aren't out yet though.

I finally installed DRL LED bulb and it works great. It looks exactly like Zelaya. I do get DRL issue light in my car. I do have wires that is suppose to help get rid of that issue. Just waiting for a nice warmer day to finish that job.

DRL Error Message

I have a 2012 TL SH-AWD w/ TECH. Recently installed hid conversions for high beams and fog lights. After getting the flicker and DRL Error Message, I installed the decoders. Still have the flicker and Error message. What to do next?
Thanks

Remove the fuse for the DRL's if you plan to keep the HID's for your high beams, which I don't find necessary. DRL's only throw out around 6 volts, which is not enough voltage for the ballast to ignite the bulbs. As for the error message, the decoders should work if you bought the correct ones, but considering you have HID's vs what many use the decoders with LED bulbs.

Sorry to bring back an old thread - just wanted to confirm that DRLs are actually the high beams running at 50% voltage? Correct?

You can not get an LED bulb that will even compare to your highbeams period... if you want the color but keep some brightness put a silverstar in there... HID's suck cause when you flip to high beams they will be dark till they warm up and LED just aren't bright enough... Best mod pull the fuse!... and don't have any goofy ass DRL's... as they look like your driving around with your high beams on all day like a 90 year old woman... Problem solved and you keep use of real Hi Beams...

Hey everyone:

So I installed these on my 2012 TL for DRL:
Amazon.com: JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright Max 50W High Power 9005 HB3 LED Bulbs for DRL or Fog Lights, Xenon White: Automotive Amazon.com: JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright Max 50W High Power 9005 HB3 LED Bulbs for DRL or Fog Lights, Xenon White: Automotive

They work but I'm getting the DRL error. I'm assuming I need to get the decoder?
