Doesn't it look more like an Accord than ever?

I just saw the 2009 for the first time. Is it just me, or does the new TL look more like the navi Accord than ever? Both inside and outside (esp the rear end) make me think Accord.

Did you see the car in person? I have not seen the real thing yet, but from the photos, I do not think that it looks like the Accord at all.

No, I haven't seen it yet.

After I posted, I looked at the TL photos again, and it does look a lot different from the front.

But the interior still looks like an Accord to me - with just more buttons on the steering wheel. I noticed they jumbled the AC vents, radio display, and the CD slot. All of which are improvements over the Accord, but the look is pretty darn similar. The dash dials are laid out just about identically. The Accord is missing the info display of course.

The rear end still reminds me of the Accord as well - even though they are a bit different.

To be honest, I like the exterior of the new Accord much better than the new TL, but I may be getting old and conservative. The new Accord looks pretty nice side by side with my 2006 TL as well.

Interesting observation by awood. It makes you wonder if the lines between Honda and Acura are blurring, which I don't like.

Yep. It looks like an accord. a LOT!

However... I dare you, when the new TL comes out to sit in a fully loaded accord and then sit in the new TL. While the accord is a wonderful, beautiful car (my parents just bought an 09 coupe) my 08TL just feels better. Better quality materials. it's not like you're getting ripped off for driving a tl instead of an accord... however their exterior resemblance shouldn't probably be as close as it is...
