We have a 4G TL that my daughter drives in college. She mentioned that a friend of her got injured in an Accord about the same age by the airbag, who was sitting in the front passenger seat. My daughter described it as an object from the airbag, but she didn't know whether it's from the passenger front airbag or another one.

This makes me wonder whether the 4G TL has other Takata airbags that are also faulty, but too costly to replace. I tried to find the answer myself, but just couldn't find any information at all. Acura/Honda seems to avoid answering this obvious question.

I just sent an email to their client relations. I will update if I hear anything from them. In the meanwhile, if you know anything please share. Thanks.

Almost all the inflators in TL are Takata inflators, it's just that the recall inflators were defective, the new ones are not.

Just call the dealership to see if you have any outstanding recalls that needs to be done or has already been done.
