Do you have rattles?

Had a 2004 TL. It had a number of rattles, creaks and squeaks.

How are the 2009 TLs so far?

No rattles or squeaks of any kind so far (@6K miles).....impressive given the stiffer suspension on the AWD model.

My 2004 TL was a haunted hoise of creaks, squeaks and rattles, I must say the build quality on the 09 4G especially for a year 1 Honda is exceptional! Some day Honda will leanr how to secure a back deck, but the 09 is still way better than many of my 3G TLs in the back deck. The rest of the car is virtually quiet, one odd noise I hear ever few days, but that is it. Honda deserves some credit for really building the 4G much tighter than the 3G.

No rattles, but I have creaks and squeaks from the (1) gear shifter console, and (2) steering wheel plastic piece below the Acura emblem.

Yeah I've had a couple of bothersome rattles on my sh-awd
1st one drove me crazy. Only a couple of hundred miles on the car. Seemed to be coming from the glove box. I worked at the glove box for a while then it came back. I was finally going to take it to the dealership until I discovered it was my sunglasses in the sunglass holder

2nd one similar story, different location, ended up that I had a child mirror in my drivers pocket

3rd one, kids left a metal sippy cup in the back

4th one...etc

You get my drift. This car is so damn quiet that the problems I've had (3000miles) have been loose crap in the car.

No rattles and no bizarre sounds besides the sound of the gas in the gas tank sometimes.

My sunroof rattles when its closed. When I go in for an oil change, I'll have it looked at.

I hear (feel) a tiny little click in my steering wheel sometimes when I turn it off center . It's from the upper part, actually around the steering wheel itself, so I know it's nothing really affecting the steering mechanism. Not a big deal. I may mention it to the dealer when I go in for my first oil change.

Only one so far is when the sunroof is CLOSED, & the sunshade is OPEN. It squeaks!
My '05/TL had the same problem, & service tried everything; to no avail.
If that's the worst of my problems, so be it.

this is a worry for me. i'm looking at buying a low mileage CPO 2G RL, like an 06/07, or leasing a new TL... the older TLs were notorois for rattles...wherease the RLs were built rock solid and no one complains bout any of that.... as the new TL is still built here in the US....wherease the RL is built 100% in japan..I"m wondering if the new TL while still a nicer car all around than the old TL, will also suffer from build quality issues...???

^ if you plan on leasing it (4GTL), why does the build quality matter? All repairs would be covered under warranty.

No rattles in my TL AWD. Huge improvement over 3G. There is a notorious creek on the 06/07 RL's around the shifter area. It wasn't on all of them but It was in some. I found it to be really annoying.

There is an intermittent rattle from the front passenger's side air vent. Otherwise the car is amazingly quiet.

I thought I had a rattle in the sun visor Homelink area, but it turned out to be my sunglasses knocking around in there......

Small clicking/scraping sound as well when turning steering wheel back from the left... of course, couldn't recreate at the dealer... will try to catch it next time. That being said, coming from my '04 TL, this '09 is quiet as can be.

Yeah, I sometimes get a very subtle click in the upper portion of the steering column too when turning from the center position. It's definitely from the upper part of the steering column (actually around the bottom of the steering wheel housing) so at least I know it has nothing to do with the actual "guts" of the steering mechanism. As such, I'm not real concerned about it. I'll print out the whole thread on this over in the "Problems and Fixes" section of this forum (there is a whole thread on this issue, BTW) and bring it in to the dealership when I get my first oil change.
