So as the title states the dealer put in 5w30 in my 2013 Acura TL 3.5 which takes Ow20. I just realized this since I am due for another oil change. I’ve been running the car with this oil for several months. It’s fully synthetic by the way. Am I fine or should I change it out immediately?
you are absolutely fine and have absolutely no worries at all.
Should I switch back to Ow20? I have no clue why they used this oil. They always put 0W20 Synthetic Blend but as soon as I requested full synthetic they put the 5w30 in. Lol I got a co worker telling me that my engine isn’t gonna run right cause of the thicker oil. Lol it’s been running fine for 5 months.

I suggest you bust their balls and demand a free oil change next time around.
For the 3.7 they recommend the higher-viscosity oil to help with any excessive oil usage, so I don't see any reason why this is bad, especially as all of us get more miles on these motors. Now, if they put 10W40 in, then you might have an issue. :-) But 5W30 synthetic? No worries at all.

Thanks everyone for the input! So far my mpg hasn’t changed and I noticed the car’s oil life has lasted longer than when I dealer used the 0w20 synthetic blend.
Yet another example of the dealer seeming to either know less than the owner, or just not caring.
Based on your wheels and the indication of 0W-20, I'm assuming you have a FWD. I've put 5W-30 in my FWD and never noticed a difference. However, for the next change, I'd go back to 0W-20. I don't believe there's any reason to go with a thicker-than-prescribed oil in these engines unless you're trying to reduce oil consumption in an already worn engine.
I can blame me not changing my oil myself due to me being lazy. When I demanded for them to use Full synthetic that day the dealer stated that the 3.5 is fine with regular oil but I insisted on the Full synthetic. They claimed that it is not recommended to use Full synthetic. My next oil change I’m just gonna buy my own Acura brand 0w20 Full Synthetic Oil and have them put it in.
Wow. That's gotta be the stupidest thing I've heard from a dealer in a long time. Maybe forever.
I'd love to see some documentation from Acura claiming that synthetic oil is not recommended. Next time you go in ask them how they determined that.
It was a female service advisor. She said Full Synthetic is used for the RDX and the that TL is fine using semi synthetic oil. I just shrugged and told them to put what I wanted. I didn’t expect a different oil from the factory.
Well, if she just said that semi-synthetic is fine for the TL then that would be different. Sure, semi-synthetic is fine. Heck, plain old dyno is fine. But to say that synthetic isn't recommended is bologna. You can use synthetic in any application as far as I know. I've used it in lawnmowers, ATV's, boats, etc. Unless I'm mistaken, synthetic can be used in any application that uses regular oil, assuming the viscosity is the same.

As far as I know, the only automotive application where synthetic (or even semi-synthetic) oil is verböten is in the rotary Wankel engines in the Mazda RX cars.
Interesting. Maybe because they intrinsically burn oil and burning synthetic is somehow detrimental to the engine.
If I recall correctly, the synthetic oil messes with the apex seals. I haven't looked into this in, uhhh, decades, so I don't remember the full reasoning.
Just one observation; while am a fan of Mobil 1 and have used it for decades, I have found on both of my J-Series cars they consume Mobil 1 0W-20 at a higher rate than Castrol Edge 0W-20. Not sure if this is an issue for your car, but thought I'd give you a "Head's up" on what I've observed.

I don’t want any oil consumption. I’ll switch it for the Castrol Edge then. Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. This is my first J Series engine. I’m more familiar with the Nisssn VQ.
I had an oil change this morning. The ticket said 5w30, same as yours. I asked and the shop owner said, "Oh, no, we used 0w20. That's just what the computer program puts in the work order."

So that might be a thing?
Possibly. It sounds like someone is too lazy at the write-up, tech story or booking process to make a proper notation. Meanwhile it's setting up others for failure.
I figured something like that could happen. But for now on I’m going to provide my own oil to the Dealership just to have a peace of mind what’s going into my car. They offered to change my oil with whatever I provide for $22 plus tax with their Honda filters. $14 plus tax if I brought my own filter.

That's exactly what I do. I haven't had anyone complain yet.
Well I'll be. A new rotory engine? I'm surprised every day. Usually it's by something stupid that Trump does or says but occasionally it's something like this Hopefully it will have some significant improvements over the old one.

As somebody that spends most of their day worrying about software development process, I agree completely... but these guys? I'm not worried. They'd cut off their own dicks before they put the wrong oil in, but they're older not-computer-guys who would absolutely configure only one SKU in their computer for oil changes to save on thinking.
Sometimes you just have to trust people. It's burned me more than once, but I remain foolishly optimistic. I'm happier this way. :-)
