A Couple Of Newbie Nav And Ipod Questions

I picked up my car today and I tried linking up my ipod and guess what? It said "unsupported version." My ipod is a couple of years old but is a regular ipod I bought directly from Apple.

Any ideas what this could be about?

And the nav system. I live in Queens so I tried searching for an address using "Bell Blvd" as the street to search for. The state was correctly set to New York but the nav system couldn't locate "Bell Blvd!!!" So I tried "Northern Blvd" and same thing!! So then I tried to first input the city within New York (in this case, "Bayside") and then it would recognize those two major thoroughfares. Weird I thought. What if I know an address or the name of a place or restaurant but not the "city?"

Any one have any more information about this.

(I posted this in the "audio, nav, etc." sub-forum but I'm not sure that one gets enough traffic to get any answers so I'm posting it here, too...I hope that's alright)

I'm no IPOD expert, but the manual states what minimum firmware the various IPODs must be to work.

Since you've split these questions and started separate threads, I'm closing this one.
