Considering trading my '10 6spd for a '12 6spd

I have the '10 that's on a lease until march 2013. I got a voicemail from my acura dealer a while ago saying they can get me into a '12 for the same payment i have now ($560)

I wonder if its worth it. I thought the beak would grow on my but it didn't and I absolutely love the way the '12 looks, especially in black. Its everything the 09-11 should have been.

Opinions? Am I crazy?

No out of pocket or penalties, I'd say go for it. If they're going to mug you for $3k in the door to line their pockets; eh...

Sounds like a good deal. Even if they want taxes and fees upfront I wouldn't necessarily back off but push them for an even swap and make sure they don't try to sneak in an extended term.

No matter what, you're going to lose money, you've been paying for your vehicle the past however long since you leased it, you're not going to get that money back so that has to factor into your decision, however since you're leasing the '10 you may not have payed enough for it to be a deal breaker, especially since you don't like the looks of the '10. Just something to consider before you make the decision.

Sit down with the salesman and see what they say.. that's my advice.

Anytime you get a call from a stealership and they say "we want to buy your car," it's usually b/c they will make money (and quite a bit of it probably) from the transaction. Off hand, I'm not sure if the stealership is trying to take advantage of the hot used car market right now with its current inflated sale prices, esp with the supposed current shortage of Japanese vehicles.

Having said that, I agree with Stew4HD above. See what the salesman has to say.

I do not see many advantages....you cannot even get the advance package on the 2012 6 speed manual as far as I know...so no ventilated seats, and blind spot warning...what is the point??

Unless you like the 2012 that much more....in my case is just the opposite, I like better the "old" design...

+1 I have to agree and I'm sure it's going to cost you some money.

there is no point of doing this, very little is different between MT '12 and '10 TL.

Talk to a salesman. There is no point to pay for something you don't like. If you can get a good deal with no up front fees and extended term and if you feel its a fair deal, go for it.

You are not crazy!! Well, if you are, then I fully support you in your illness. Although not quite exactly the same situation as you, I am in an 09 TSX that has extremely low mileage and looks like new. I can hop in a 2012 TL (SW-AWD TECH) by breaking my lease with my payments increasing by about 45$ a month. Considering that by the end of my lease I would have to put new tires on the car, just the $1200 I save on the tire (Welcome to Canada) which is about 25$ a month over 48 months drops the difference to just 20$ a month *lol* Just trying to justify my reason to change cars

The bottom line is that I would do the same if I was you. yes, money wise is not the smartest thing but at the end of the day, if money is not a huge issue, why not enjoy life. Cars is what I love spending my money on so I don;t care what people say...Its a disease that I am proud to have
