Check Power Steering System - No power steering
Hi all, I need some help understanding what could be wrong on my TL 2012. I have seen only couple of related threads here, but no answer/follow up as to what the actual problem was. So, I am getting a "Check Power Steering System" on my 2012 TL (70K). When the error shows up, there is no power steering. If you keep driving it goes off, but comes back every 10 min. If you turn off the car, and wait 10-15 min, everything is normal, but comes back in few minutes. Took the car to dealership, but they weren't confident what it is. No error codes showed up. At the end the dealer said to change the EPS module. They explained this should be the first thing to replace. They didn't sound very confident this is for sure the problem. Please let me know if you've seen this issue, or know where to start troubleshooting. Thanks.

Burning Brakes
It's always troubling when the dealer can't diagnose a problem. EPS is relatively new technology and this problem coupled with an unknown solution was bound to happen to someone. The EPS module (EPS control unit) lists for $572 but can be purchased on the internet OEM for about $406 (Yikes). According to my service manual it appears to be located behind the pass side kick panel fuse/relay box.
Recommendations:
1. Call Acura Client Relations (Number ?). Others on this forum have done so with positive results sometimes.
2. Search internet. Don't limit your search to just TL. Try all Honda/Acura V6 of the same or close year.
3. Search other H/A forums. Since the Accord EPS is probably similar or perhaps the same you might find a solution there.
Nevertheless, keep us posted on what you find and goodluck.
