Certified Pre-Owned?? Or Nah...

When I purchased my 2012 SH-AWD Advance back in February, I opted out of any extended warranty at the dealership, but checked my mail a couple of weeks ago and got a letter from Acura Automobile Division with an ID card saying "Thank you for choosing a 2012 Acura Certified Pre-Owned TL SH-AWD." The ID card has my Vehicle's VIN and when the Powertrain/Non-Powertrain warranty expires. Did I miss something? Has anyone else experienced this? Wondering if I really am covered??

My guess is the extended warranty would have been in addition to the CPO warranty...probably taking the bumper-to-bumper closer to 100k. If you have a CPO ID card with your VIN I think it's safe to assume you're covered b-to-b until 62k and powertrain until 100k (at least as far as mileage goes, not sure of date).

The extended warranty is completely different from the CPO warranty.

I also declined the extended warranty, but since it was being sold thru an Acura dealership and was certified, that automatically increased the warranty thru the CPO program. (100k powertrain and additional 12k from purchase mileage bumper-to-bumper in my case)

That's the thing, I purchased my TL from Pohanka Acura in Virginia and they told me that it wasn't a CPO, offered the extended warranty, I declined and then received this card in the mail. Just wary that I was told one thing and then get this. But what you said matches up with the card I received...interesting.

Your local dealer can check the status of your warranty by VIN in their system, but you having the card will make it interesting if they come back and say something different.

Yeah I'm interested to see what happens here. If it were CPO I'd be pretty happy with the price and all. Love the car!

Perhaps you don't have any issues with your car and never get to find out -

You can call Acura care direct, give them your VIN. They will tell you if your covered under any additional warranties.
