Car and Driver has the 09 TL SH-AWD in last place....bummer

They obviously had different criteria than all of us here did.
I drove all those cars, except the 335i (vs. 328i).
They rated the cars in inverse order of their size... the smallest got the best rating.
To me, while I loved the BMW 335i engine and handling, I was less than enthused about the interior and stereo and space and price.
The G37 to me was the clear loser in the group... too plasticky, dull interior, high revving engine (nearly 1000 rpm higher than the TL at 80mph), too common and the styling, while I like it, is becoming "old" probably cause I've seen so many for so long.
The A4 to me was clearly the equal of the TL AWD, and honestly, if they'd had the color combo I wanted, I'd probably be driving one... great interior, gorgeous exterior, stereo 2nd best to the TL in this group but very close 2nd, great road feel, but the 19" S-line ride was very harsh, much rougher than the AWD TL.
Not surprising they'd rate the cars almost 100% backwards from what I did... I expect their ratings are all about the "fun-ness" of the drive, and less about the long-term ownership experience and value.

I agree.... Seems like all these car magazine "enthusiasts" care about is how fast a car can go and how well it carves a corner......they review these cars as if they're going to spend 100% of their time on the autobahn. Good bathroom reading......that's all these car magazines are good for.
