bye bye TL

i've owned 4G TL's since 2015 and decided to finally jump ship. I bought a '17 Lexus GSF with the 5.0 V8 and only 19k miles. Although i'll miss my 6MT 4G, i hope it'll go to a good home (still for sale).
I'll definitely still be active on this forum though. You guys rock

Congrats on the upgrade. Were there any other vehicles that you were considering before committing to the GS F?

At this point, I can't foresee what aspect could actually make me pivot from the 4G TL platform, for a daily driver. SH-AWD has been crucial, so I can't ever revert back to a FWD vehicle. As much as I loved the 2007 TL Type-S, I can't imagine ever driving one again, after experiencing SH-AWD. There are still some cars on my bucket list that I need to get through, though, so it's possible an unknown facet reveals itself.

For my application, I prefer the 6AT over the 6MT, although I was very appreciative of the 6MT that I owned and experienced. The IS F raised the bar for performance, so I can only imagine how much better the GS F is. I've definitely cherished all of my toys thus far, and trust that you will, as well.

Do you intend to leave it stock, or modify it?

yeah I was the same, absolutely loved the 4G platform and never wanted anything else until I drove this car. More leg room, sound system is substantially better than the ELS, better riding, but it definitely is tail happy with the torque vectoring rear diff. You can choose drive modes to make it torque vector a lot more. Definitely gonna keep it stock, or slightly modify it, that’s it. I already kinda miss driving the 6MT. Rowing my own gears was more fun even tho this has a LOT more power. 467hp. It scoots!!
now if I can only find a good home for the 6mt. I’d be a lot more happy. I hate letting it just sit and rot

Great upgrade, that's what I'd like to do as well but they're basically unicorns here up north. Congrats!

thanks dude! I saw you over there too and saw the type s in the background. I'm definitely going to miss my 4g especially since its a 6mt, but it was time for a newer car.
