Buy (some) of your aftermarket accessories direct from China

Hey Guys-

I figured that I'd pass this on.

http://www.aliexpress.com/category/3...torcycles.html

http://www.dhgate.com/wholesale+car+...nhp1208-lc-8-0

I have bought my LED bulbs from this site directly instead of going through other vendors. I'm pretty sure that this is where they source from.

Here's a good example:

Just keep in mind that a the customer service is not ideal and at times the quality can be lacking-- you get what you pay for. But the savings can be considerable when you consider that these other websites are basically sourcing these things direct from China. The items also ship directly from china, so there can be a 2-3 week delay before it arrives.

This is more than likely where the lights on ebay/amazon come from. There's no question that this is cheap stuff-- I'll I'm doing is cutting out the middleman.

the difference between buying shit from china and from US is that you do not get the gaurantee that it will work.... customer service comes into mind..

what if you order a hid kit.. and it turns out to be fault? do you really think they will send you another kit under their expense?

Probably not but if "x" retailers feels comfortable enough to consistently sell these products, it's doubtful that they're failing often enough where they're sending out a 2nd kit on them to preserve their high level of customer service. I'm sure there's some level of quality control. Over the years what I've learned from brand owner about production in China is that they decide the quality of the products they order; Chinese, Taiwanese, etc factories have the capacity to make products just as good as those made in our backyard.

i bought LED 168 bulbs off ebay, from those Chinese sellers, the bulbs lasted about a week each and some didnt even work. i paid about $5 for 10 bulbs. ebay msg'd the dealer and said that a few of the bulbs messed up, took a picture of them, sent them over and they refunded me for about 7 of the bulbs.

i bought the same 168 LED bulbs from iJDMtoy, for about $6 for 2 and they are still going strong after a year.

customer service isnt an issue if you buy the same thing through ebay or amazon, sellers take their rating and feedback very seriously and will do anything to preserve a 5 star rating. but the hassle of installing bulbs over and over isnt worth the extra few dollars for a proper bulb. for smaller items that can wear out, id say go local because they have a proper testing phase of the product and it will work. bigger products that dont wear as much, where u can save a considerable amount of money (the rear spoiler comes to mind, 80 on ebay painted and shipped, and the other local one is around 200+) go foreign.

Check the metal contacts-- I thought I had the same issue, but it was that the connections weren't perfect.
