Broken fog light

I noticed that my passenger fog light is cracked...probably from a rock.

A new one from Acura is around 190.00$, but I found one from depot lighting for 100.00$.

Are they the same thing? Is there that much difference between them?

Thanks

Manufacturer Part Number: 327-2007R-AS
Interchange Part Number: 33900-TK4-A01

Basically saying, aftermarket part that fits OEM but is not OEM. There are slight differences in quality between cheaper aftermarket parts tho but if you don't mind it then it'll suffice

i bet the reflectors will blast the light everywhere.. thats how the cheap civic and integra fogs are.. they look the same, but quality of light projected is soo off.

Both of the foglights cracked within the 1st 6 months of owning my tsx. The dealer replaced them free as a one time goodwill. I then put rockblocker on them with Excellent results.

Thanks for the reply's........I will go OEM. I know in the BMW community Depot lighting is frowned on for it's poor quality and fitment.

when i first got my car, the first 3 days, i already took off the bumper and put lamin-x on the fog lights.

lamin-x is thick, it is as thick as 6 pieces of white paper stacked.

10 dollar investment can save you a few hundred on fog light replacement.

If you drive an older car, say older than 2005, Depot lights are pretty good alternate for the money. I replaced my uncle's 1999 Toyota Camry's headlights last summer. His OEM got all faded. Got the Depot ones for 60 bucks a pair, with new bulbs. The OEM was costing me 60+ each and that too used. He couldnt be happier. But for a newer more expensive cars, such as an Acura, I will not buy Depot. I will say try a junkyard around your area and see if they have one for sale. You may get a good deal if you haggle.

Are the 2012 Tl fog lights the same size as the 2009-2011? I found a set on Amazon, but it says only for 2009-2011. Plus, the only ones they have on Amazon are yellow. Where else can I get clear ones?

some depo lights are pretty good, very very close to oem quality.
but they also have some really cheap crap out there too, so depends on what you get.
from what i've seen, oem replacement's are great, anything that's different from oem is not as good. however, this was concluded from my experience with my 00 civic, and this was a few years back. not sure if this still applies to newer cars.

Where did you get that? My TSX had both broken and with labour the cost was about $500 installed for the pair. It involves removing the bumper. My TL has one cracked and I caulked it for now. The protector sounds like an excellent idea.

Fog lights are just for auxiliary illumination. So quality isn't as important.

However, if it is the main headlights, then they must be of top notch quality.

After seeing this thread, I took a look at my own fogs...

My passenger side is cracked as well, and with all the moisture we've gotten here over the last week, it's all fogged inside. The quote from the dealer: $150 for the labor, and $335 for the part. I'm gonna check with a local bodyshop and see if I can improve on that, but the part is going to be the same.

Has anyone replaced their TSX fog light assembly without removing/ dropping the bumper? Can it be done by just using the same access as replacing the bulb? Thanks. Dealer is asking $170+tax for the part and $120 labor.
