Brake Replacement options for 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD

Good Evening all,

I have always used Brembo blank rotors for my previous cars, I see brembo does not make rotors for this car, anyone have goodluck with other aftermarket rotors or should I just spend the money on OEM?

Thanks

Tommy

In before Adam's Rotors comes up....I believe they're a sponsor on the forum so there's quite a few people (the vendor included) that drops in on these threads. They're available here:

2009+ ACURA TL MODELS

Alternatively:

I've used Centric Cryo treated on my S2000 with good luck, and I don't think StopTech is going to be a bad option either.

The XLR8 package looks good. Info in the performance section of the 4G sub forum. I ordered and received mine recently (the blank stoptech rotors with the ceramic pads). They look pretty good quality stuff. The front each rotor weights a little less than 20lb and the rear a little less than 10lb. Haven't installed them yet... life too fast lately, no time! Hopefully before winter comes. Believe it or not, the OEM still going strong, have another 40% life after nearly 6 years on the road.

BTW, change the brake hose/lines too, get stainless steel. My plan is to first change these hoses to the stuff I got from XLR8 and then the weekend after change the disks pads. This way I'll make sure nothing leaks after a week and second I am curious to see if the staleness steel lines alone make any difference. Also need more time to clean re-paint the calipers. Big job!

Just some random thoughts.

Great website to visit if interested in installing new rotors -

Why Deep Cryogenics? - Frozen Rotors

Our proprietary 60 hour cryogenic process permanently and dramatically improves the usage life and stability of brake rotors to create a distinct advantage in tensile strength, abrasive wear resistance and rotor longevity. By using the cryogenic process to inhibit internal oxidation and increase thermal fatigue resistance, a cryogenically treated rotor can last up to three times as long as untreated rotors.
