Bought new TL - Comprehensive Warranty

Bought new TL - Comprehensive Warranty
So today I bought a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD Elite. I have until tomorrow to decide if I want a comprehensive warranty.
The car has 55,000km and the remaining Acura Certified Warranty is good until Jan 2019 or 130,000km. I've been offered a comprehensive warranty that will be good until Jan 2019 or 130,000km whichever comes first for 1890.00$ CDN.
What does everybody think? I drive about 15,000km a year. The previous owner took insanely good care of the vehicle I noted from the maintenance history which was all done at the dealership. Over the next two and a half years (warranty timeline) I expect to put no more than 50,000km on the car.

I'd skip. The reason is you've already paid a premium for a CPO car. If you plan to buy comprehensive warranty (e.g. Acuracare), you should just find a clean used car that is cheaper and still has some basic warranty left.
But you need to understand the CPO warranty only extends bumper to bumper warranty to another year, while powertrain warranty to 100K miles (or 130K km in Canada).
The comprehensive will cover you "almost" everything until 130K km.

Yes. The Acura Certified warranty would be nullified in which case the Comprehensive Warranty - which is everything the CPO warranty is and then some - will take effect. I made things easier to understand in first post but I'll try to explain what happened.
The Acura Certified warranty expires Jan 2019 or 130,000KM. I can nullify this warranty and receive a 650$ credit towards a comprehensive warranty of any term/mileage. I just chose 7 year / 130,000KM because it seemed the to make most sense. The next tier would be 7 year / 160,000KM $2910.00 - $650.00 credit = $2260.00.
The extended warranty date starts from Jan 2012 when the car was purchased by original owner.

Thanks hadokenuh. I'm mostly looking for moral support. The salesman warned me with such phrases like, "well, if your nav system shits the bed your out 5000$. Now tell me that's not worth it!!" lmao. What he's saying makes sense but what are the chances my nav system will actually shit the bed. I think if I didn't get the warranty and my nav system shit the bed in Feb 2019 I would have a smile on my face. Sort of haha.

I see cool. I would get the extended warranty if I were you. Lots more can go wrong with our cars with our crazy winters here. I have the 7/160k on my 2012.
Shop around for prices on the extended warranty. I called around a few in SW Ontario and even though Acura has a set price, most of them varied by a few bucks. Finally Oakville Acura undercut the lowest offer and I got it for close to $300 less than the Acura list price for 2012 vehicles. This was in 2014 btw. At that time it cost $2,388 for 7/160k.

Thanks LNJ. The salesman also informed me that all Acura dealerships in Canada are obligated to offer same prices. Which is bogus in my opinion. I will look into what you mentioned.

Call around and if you are lucky you may get offered an older price just to make the sale. Also you have until 4/80k to buy an extended Acura Plus warranty.

Keeping TL until 2029
I bought it and it was worth it. Used it on Climate control replacement, door handle, wiper motor, flat tire, TPMS module on my set of winter rims, Fuse for powering my 12V. Just like it when my bill is N/C (no charge).

I'd skip it. Our 09 had the 7/160KM CPO and only thing we fixed under warranty was a TPMS, probably $100 worth.
The 4G seems very solid compared to the 2G we replaced, that POS had one thing after another each year.

Continued beating...
OP, what a waste of money. Sure, if the vehicle breaks you might get your money back. Chances are it won't, and your money will help the F&I person at the dealership afford that winter trip to Hawaii.

...if you are worried that the car will have an expensive repair down the road, set aside 2,000-2,500 CDN in a savings account that is only for Emergencies.
After 5 years, if you haven't used it for another emergency, withdraw it and treat yourself to your own Hawaiian vacation. Unlike the warranty, at the end of the time period, the money is still yours to spend as you see fit.

Mine was CPO as well and i skipped the extended warranty. Its a Japanese car, majority of the items minus electronics can be fixed or some TSB is going to come out and they will have to fix it.
My biggest mistake when i got my TL was i didnt check the rims, apparently all 4 of them are bent and I can only notice vibration around 70mph+ which i didnt take the car on the highway to see. Now im trying to find a local place to fix the rims =/
