Body Repair - Looking for Advice
Seeking advice on the approach to take on some needed minor body work. My 2012 TL 6MT has sustained some damage from being driven over a curb that separates parking spaces in a parking lot. I clipped the end of the curb which slightly scraped the bottom of the front bumper cover (no big issue here), then when the wheel passed over the curb, the splash guard was pressed upward, bowing the left front fender out about 3/4 inch where it meets the front door. The strip running under the door is bent up slightly, so that the lower front corner of the driver's door catches when the door is opened and closed. Otherwise, the car is in mint condition and I want it repaired properly.
I took the car to a reputable body shop. The estimator suggested that since it does not need paint work that I make a deal with one of his employees and pay him on the side to bend it back. Inherently, I don't like that approach. Am I being ridiculous? This shop has award plaques all over the walls of the office, and is "authorized" by American Honda... But then, I am not really dealing with the shop. Any advice will be most appreciated.

if you want it repaired properly, just pay the shop to do it properly with receipts, warranty and the works.
