bmw 528i or 2010 tl 6mt

I am looking for either used 2008 bmw 528i 6mt or 2010 tl 6mt. I have done some research. BMW is good at the smooth ride, quiet, ballance of sporty and luxury and great sport package. But the 6mt is notchy and the clutch is heavy. The safty rating was dispointing. 2010 TL 6mt will be good at short throw, easy use. But SH-AWD suffers from loud engine noise and stiff ride. I need your help and Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The price you can get either vehicle for is going to be the big deciding factor.

I believe you'll find the Bimmer will depreciate much (I mean MUCH) more quickly than the TL, percentage-wise. And if you're into the electronics and interior features, the TL, especially this new 4G version, will blow most cars within spitting distance of its pricing right out of the water.

Personally, I find your two options (the 5 Series and the TL) a bit odd. Are you referring to an all-wheel-drive 528xi, or a rear-wheel drive 528i?

guess which one will be cheaper to maintain, repair?

and the free mantenance on the bmw - got it an oil change about every 15000miles or 1yr (which ever came 1st)
after that unless you do change the O/F yourself could be about $100

I drove a 535i w/ the twin turbo - nice but I liked the handling of the 335i much better

someone here has had both

If you are looking at 2010 TL 6MT. so it means your making decision some time in future to buy $40K new Car. (TL without Tech Packaged and upgraded rims dont make sense).
BMW 535 used 08 are currently available from $38 to $45K used. I would imagine it will lose some more value in 2009. so price will be somewhere $30k.
528 is even cheaper.

I agree, the cost of ownership on the BMW as it ages should be a factor in your decision.

...not if it's a lease, in which case all scheduled maintainance is free. (If one is planning to buy and keep for more than 5 years, avoid German).

i'd take the TL in this case, more bang for the buck. If it was a 535i, I would rather take the 535.

acura sure gives you more tech options for your $

add options to the bmw and the price climbs so fast !!

the keyless entry I think is $500 itself as an example.
