Blue tint on 4G side mirrors

I recently had occasion to wade through some of the other forums, and noticed that there are some discussions regarding the desirability (in previous generations) of the blue tinted side mirrors. Mine has tint, and I assumed they all came that way; is this correct, or does it only come in certain packages (or did my previous owner do it aftermartket)?

I know it was standard on the 3G TL's as well... I, for one, like this feature. Prevents glare from vehicles behind you... My previous car, an IS250 did not have this and this was something I liked about the TLs... ::thumbs up::

I thought only the auto dimming feature of the side mirrors is responsible for reducing glare from vehicles behind.

^Try it out in a vehicle without the tint.... if there is a vehicle behind you and it's lights hit your side mirrors, they cause a equal amount of glare. Although the side mirror doesn't dim the incoming light as much as the rearview mirror, it helps to a great extent. My eyes are sensitive to glare and this is a godsend for me.
