Blind Spot Indicators look out of place

Hi All,

Check out this pic on Acura's site of the Blind Spot system:

http://www.acura.com/Features.aspx?m...rmation_system

Really looks like an after thought to me... Compare this to the ZDX...

I've very torn now as what to get... The SH-AWD rims are not for me and I really like the ones on the Advance + the Cooled seats but I'm not really sure if I want warts on my door for the blind spot system. Maybe they look better in person? Has anyone seen them?

I wonder if Acura did a study and determined that is was better to put the blind spot indicator on the inside. I always thought on the mirror was fine. I'm pretty sure it was a way to keep cost down.

I was thinking along those lines. I wonder if that is a spot that a flashing light is picked up by your eyes better without being to alarming?

I don't think it looks out of place, but my guess is that the bulbish look is probably they were not planning on BSW for the MMC initially, but the ZDX was likely designed with BSW from day 1.

It work whether or not the turn signal indicator was activated. Anytime a car appeared in the measured space, it would light an alert.

That is a shame they made it stick out like a sore thumb. Worst of all - just to get the cooled seats they make you buy that junk.

Saw them yesterday when I had my car in for routine service. No issues, and even for those who don't think they need them, BSM is a VERY cool safety feature that will wind up on pretty much all cars someday.

BTW, I got a ZDX loaner... fully loaded SH-AWD w/Advance pack... $57K... get real, that's just $11K more than a TL... don't get the ZDX... if you want an SUV, you get the MDX (or other brand), and if you want a sport sedan, you get the TL... interesting Acura even makes a ZDX-type model
