Smile Back from Atlanta, First time poster/Acura owner

I just completed my two day mission of driving six hours from Destin, FL to ATL, GA. Driving my old 99 Grand Cherokee Lmtd wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but driving home in the new TL was so fun. I have never owned a car, I have always been a truck/suv guy. Without getting too long winded I have had a previous auto/forum relationship with my 05 King Ranch F150 and www.f150online.com. I just wanted to introduce myself (Jarrett) and say that I am the proud new owner of an absolutely beautiful black/black 2010 TL w/ tech pkg. The car only has 36,000 miles on it. If anyone wants to see what mods I had done to the KR click this link:

http://www.f150online.com/forums/mem...04-195085.html

I'm excited to see what I can do to my new car. First things first...tomorrow the windows are getting 15% all around. I live in Florida.

Looking forward to sharing pics soon and getting great advice from my new family

Would you buy a demo car?

Continuing my search for my TL I've stumbled upon an offer of a 2013 Acura TL SH-AWD w/Tech (5294 miles) for $37,595. The only catch is that it's an executive demo. Is this something I should avoid or should I pursue this deal?

Welcome to Acurazine Jarrett! You will have a lot of fun on here learning how to spend $$$ on your TL - congrats!

Nice F150 too. I'm in my truck 5-6 days a week for work. Nice to see another truck guy here on AZ.

Thanks guys. Well my window tinting is getting put off til later on today. Also I have already arranged to get the beak, tail trim, and tail lights blacked out. It's gonna be hard for me to not go out and drop a few g's on some wheels and tires, but I need something to look forward to. Having said that, I'm a stereo guy too. I will get some before and after of the mods I do though for sure.

15% can make it very hard to drive/see at night.

I've checked out your work Nexson, but I don't see how I could be without a grille to my car while waiting to have it painted. I need my car because I run my own business and drive a lot. Future plans are similar to "matt's acura" because that is one good looking car. As much as I love the Vossen CV3's I will probably try to find a unique rim, because Vossen's seem to be very popular on the TL. I love the concave look but want to see what other options I have. I've already decided it has to be black/brushed or whatever vs. chrome cause I live at the beach. Last truck I had 24" Momo storm chrome and I loved them but they started to pitt. Just ordered a JL cleansweep and two Alpine amps from a fellow acurazine member. Guess this means stereo is the next thing coming. I want some decent bass and can't decide if I should do one 10 or two. Bring on the helpful advice

Do you do the same for the headlights? i would love a halo headlight look with the halo for drl's and black painted inside...has anyone done this on the 4th gen TL? Also is grille removal and installation as well as rear trim fairly easy? I keep thinking a red acura emblem on the front and back of the car (chrome with red background) would look good but then it leads me to brake calipers, two tone wheels, and then I think it may start to look tacky. I'm all about originality, but my number one thing about a ride is a very clean look. No stickers for me. I love all black wheels too, but I'm thinking the black lip with some cool design inside in a brushed look would be cool. Not really sure.

Got some pictures from today's work at the shop. Going to spray the rear trim tomorrow.

Didn't grab any pictures of the pieces sanded down but they get scored up with 80 grit.

Here are the pieces in epoxy and then the light primer is the 2k urethane to settle any small debris from the road.

Here are the grilles all sealed with 2k urethane sealer, again more rock chip prevention.

Basecoat

Cleared

I have one here so I will snap it in. It is actually an emlem holder and then the emblem screws in it. Just send your old one back just the way it is. It will be a direct swap.

Damn that grille is beautiful. Really gonna change the look of the car. That is a must for any 4th gen before 2012+ models IMO. I have been waiting for these to arrive before I black out my tail lights. I was gonna have those guys paint the grille and trim, but chose to go with someone who has experience and a great reputation. Thank you so much! I definitely recommend Nexson's work for anyone on the fence about it.
