I used to use Barkeepers friend to "polish" my headlights to get rid of the haze. It would make them better but were still dull looking. Then I decided to use this Wizards Metal Renew Polish I use on my motorcycle. I was amazed!! Each light took me literally 2 minutes using a cloth and a little elbow grease and they look basically brand new. Its like $15 and you could probablly clean about 50 sets of lights with the 8oz bottle. Before After

i hope you put some sort of clear coat or other protectant, you just polished off all the existing UV protectant so it's just going to oxidize all over again and even quicker this time.
Well, being as they were all hazed over already "ie, uv protection failed" already, I do not see any harm in what I did. They are not rough and yellowed anymore. So, if it happens again, then a quick 2 minutes and they will be looking like new again.
You can wrap them with 3M clear bra if you want to preserve the finish.
I solved my haziness problem by buying brand new head lights from Honda. I then wrapped them to keep them protected from all kinds of stuff (debris, sun, etc).
I've also used wrap to protect lights that I've wet sanded. Its lasts a lot longer than the factory clearcoat, and I imagine longer than 2K clear you can buy from Spraymax.

In two minutes, even with a rotor at 2000 rpm and with this paste on coarse pad, you will not be able to polish correctly. I think this is the result until the first wash with soap.
