4G TL SH-AWD 6MT as a DD? Oil consumption issues?

I am thinking about picking up a 4G TL SH-AWH 6MT as a DD. It really appeals to me as its AWD 6 speed and its more of a luxury car than anything else with the 6MT. I really cannot find that with any Japanese cars now a days. Everything is German. But anyways on to the point. A lot of these threads have people with constant oil consumption with these 3.7 motors. A lot of threads where people are adding up to 1+ QT per every 2k miles between oil changes. So my questions are as follows to anyone that can shead some light.

1.) Is it worth purchasing a Tl-SH?
2.) How often do these cars go through the oil consumption issue?
3.) Is this like the typical Honda where I can add oil as needed every so often?
4.) I am assuming that oil is making its way past the piston via the rings and blowing it out the exhaust.
5.) Anything else I should know before looking at one?

Thanks!

1) up to you to decide if the car is worth it
2) Remember that people go on forums to complain about issues. Some cars consume oil and some don't. I know 3 local TLs in my area that don't consume oil. I'm sure there are many car owners who's TL doesn't consume oil.
3) probably yeah. Never had to add oil in the TL

I've got 2 Acuras with the 3.7. No issues. No regrets. Had to add 1/2 quart one time after 4,000 miles between oil changes. I've got 42K on the MDX and 34K on the TL. Both have been great. The TL (mine is an auto) is the best daily driver I've had. I love it.

1. I've had my TL-shawd for 2 years now and I am very happy with the performance and reliability.
2. I've had the oil consumption issue. 1L per 2000 km is my average. However, lately it is burning a lot less. I filled 1L after going 4000km. I am not sure why - it could be my driving style or perhaps the change in temperature.
3. You can add oil to any car as needed. I have a friend who adds oil to his VW Golf every couple of thousand kilometers.
4. Yes, that is the suspected issue with these engines.
5. Yes..Make sure you have the car checked for issues with the drive shaft and the torque converted (if 2009-2010 model).

Considering that this is the only Japanese premium brand manual AWD in the game... If any of the above criterion is not a must, you can find other balances that may suit you better...

Thanks everyone. I am pretty sure I am going to pull the trigger on a 2013 lower mileage 35k 6mt car for 25k seems like a good deal. Drive train warranty looks like either 70k or 72 months so not a problem.
