Exclamation 4G TL Headlights

Guys, I've searched and it seems this site is so big the answers I need at the speed I need them are not surfacing fast enough. My car is in the body shop and my halo's (well one of them) quit. JnC did them but it seems he has gone dormant. Here is what I need to know and what you need to know in order to get the answers I need.

I have the replica lenses installed but I want MORE lumens without goinf over 5K color. Factory bulbs still (D2s I assume?)
A> What are the best bulbs to go with? 85122+'s? CBI's? I saw on retro fit source the new morimoto??
I dont want to buy something for $50 and it turn out greay for output but crap for life longevity. I'd rather spend the money and get quality.
Essentially I want MORE lumens .
Next, I want GOOD halo's. JnC put a pair in that looked sick but started to crap out after about a year and a half. I would like GOOD halo's and a reference to someone that may be able to take my old ones out. I've tried to reach JnC for almost a month. I hope all is well with him.

Now on to high lumen REAR turn signal led's I bought some from ijdmtoy but they arent bright enough in daylight. any testimonials would be appreciated.

I have a 2012 TL Tech. every light has been converted to led so if anybody could shoot me the link with all of the buls sizes that would help as well.

Thanks in advance and if I left anything else out, please feel free to ask

you're not going to get more lumens.

the limitation on both bulbs and ballast are going to throw out the max lumens available.

the best bulb out there, the CBI's throw out 3200 lumens. you're not going to get more than that.

unless you up the wattage in the ballast...
running a 55watt ballast is not recommended because it throws out too much heat from the bulb, melting the insides of your headlights.

all your questions can be answered with a bit of research at HIDPLANET.com

if you do a bit of digging you can find more than what you are looking for as far as which ones are good and who is a good retrofitter. I hate to spoon feed info, so i wish you can learn from the website i provided.

Come back if you really cant find the answer from HIDPLANET

few things tho.

TRS has xb led halo's which are good. They are not the ones that you have, these are actual LED's inside.
Nightbreakers and CBI are also good as well. They are rated one of the best.

Roger that. I'm still under warranty and I agree, I dont want new ballasts, just brighter more luinated bulbs. I Had 85122+'s in my 07TL and was very happy. I just remember how much "press" came out over the CBI's and them being made by OSRAM which were the same, as I recall, as the factory. I just wanted to know if the CBI's were worth the money or should I get the 85122+'s, in relation to the headlight bulbs.

There are comparison pictures of CBI vs 85122+ and CBI clearly wins as far as light output goes.

Philips has a new Xtreme Vision bulb, the part number is 85122XV but I haven't seen any comparison pictures between the CBI and 85122XV.

Since you're not willing to go with 55W ballast, your best bet is the proven CBI bulbs. I personally had 55w ballast + Philips 50w DL50 bulbs in S2K projectors, the output was amazing and it did not burn the projector bowl or headlights. As of right now I'm using CBI bulbs with everything else stock in my 4G TL. I've had better lighting setups, but it'll do until LED technology gets better and retrofitting them is widely available.

VDot is on the correct path!

maybe the 4G projector lenses are "cloudy".
OEM manufactures dont use a "clear" lens any more, like the s2k and 1st gen TSX projector, thus less visible output compared to your 07 TL

oem projectors are frosted lens.. during the time when OP opened up his headlights or when JNC did his headlights, should have swaped in tsx-r projectors.. unless he already did then the only thing you can do is change the bulb.
