4g tl 2012

Hey guys, whet in to the dealership to look for a CPO 9+ white TL plus Tech. Ended up looking at the 2012 instead.

I get what i am thinking is a great deal. 2012 TL 6AT White on black SH-AWD with Tech, and Aero kit total is 41K.

Let me know what you guys think.

Keep in mind i am 20 years old, ,and getting a feeling that this may be a "family car".

Some input from the members would be great.

Thanks All.

sounds like a good deal, tell them to throw in a maintenance package for you and call it a day.

At 20 years old, I definitely would not recommend the 12' TL, especially for 41K asking price. You can get much more suitable cars for that kind of money. I mean one of my friends (he's 22) recently got a CPO 335i (nav, M package, 6MT) sedan for 23k and has put in another 3K into it in performance mods. He now has 450hp to the wheels and 460tq. I actually drove it on a runway last week and it scared the shit out of me. Another one of my friends has a Legacy GT 5MT that he got for 14k with 300awhp. Fast as fawk.

So although the 12' TL is reliable, spacious, powerful in AWD, etc., I just can't recommend it to such a young person. Just my

If I were 20 years old again, I would get a car that is more mod-friendly, and the 4G TL is definitely not one.

Do a search in this 4G TL forum, and you'll notice that aftermarket performance parts are so scarce to be almost non exist. The only announced aftermarket aero kit is still stalled.

I am reading the OP as saying he may need a bigger car because he's starting a family?

IF I were 20 again and looking at your choices, I would opt for a vasectomy and a gently used S2000.

If it were me and 20 again (knowing what I know 30 years on), I'd get a used Mustang and save my cash for later.

Yea OP - While the 4G TL is a great car, for when you are 20 there are much better cars out there. I would kill for a 2door anything car to have, but having a wife & child doesn't allow for that anymore.

If you're planning on dropping 41k (which seems high for a 4G TL) - Go and get a CPO 335i - or maybe a Subaru WRX STI, EVO, etc... Get the stupid fun fast car NOW, because you won't be able to get one again until you are in your mid-late 40's...
