303 Protectant on TL Mats

I got my new TL in mid-December 2012. I bought the Acura winter mats but the salt in the Boston area was tough on them. I pulled them out today, cleaned them in the kitchen sink (Mrs. ExGMan is on a business trip...heh-heh), let 'em dry and coated them with 303 protectant. They've got a matte black finish which is better than when they were new. I expect they won't be slippery as they would be with Armor-All.

Is the 303 similar to the 3M Heavy-duty Scotchguard thing ?

303 Protectant

Edward - I dunno if it's like Scotchguard, but I think not. I have used it for years on auto interiors, kayaks, canoes, and things like that. Here's a description of properties I found on a website. I am not sure if it's available in Canada:

"Detailed Description
Powerful UV screening and anti-ozonant protective treatment for rubber, vinyl, clear vinyl, plastic and plastics. Intense cosmetic enhancement properties. Not greasy and oily. Treated surfaces REPEL dust, dirt, soiling, stains, stay cleaner longer and clean up easier when finally soiled. FREE SAMPLES program for retail locations stocking this product. Automotive: Vinyl dash & trim, vinyl convertible tops, Jeep and other SUV topping, tonneau covers, car bras. Rubber (EPDM) door and trunk seals. Protects plastics including clear acrylic over headlights, clear plastic windows in convertible & SUV tops, urethane fender flares & bumper trim, tail lights. Protects tire sidewalls against drying, checking, cracking."

Yep. Perfectly safe to use on the all-season rubber mats.

303 is awesome!

I've used 303 for years! Didn't think about trying it on the all weather mats. Will be giving this a try this weekend. Thanks for the suggestion.

303 is a great product for alot of purposes. Mats are fine for it - just be carefull getting in your TL to not slip.
