2012 TL Tech Package (V6) vs. 2015 TLX Base (V4)
FYI - both cars have similiar mileage
Id go for the TL. As Echo mentioned, for the ELS and the extra HP. Plus I find it more spacious and a very well designed interior. Had a TLX loaner when I went for maintenance and didn't like the feel. Yes you'll get more MPG but IMO it's less fun to drive. Plus I find that the TL looks way better but once again that's a matter of taste.

I had a list of things to do on my TL to make it more modern looking and relatively inexpensive.
TL Upgrades
1. LED after market bulbs for DRL and FOGS.
2. Foot Well Lighting on TL (just drill a hole).
3. Add DYI Triple Seal on doors. https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...al-diy-938122/
TLX Comparison
1. TL is running HID (which is a good thing!). TLX Jewel lights look cool but were marginal in terms of testing. New IIHS ratings show most headlights are lacking.
2 Newer TLX looks a lot better with exposed exhausts (IMHO). A-SPEC looks awesome.
Hard to find upgrades for TL
Aero kit - f you can find them have been reduced in price.
Good luck!

I own a 2012 TL and I can without a doubt say you're getting more car with the TL over the TLX, but I still suggest for you to go with the TLX, it's three years newer and that is enough reason to go that route. The TL will start to develop age issues, things like the blue mirrors will start to brown spot, suspension and brakes will likely be more worn, that kind of stuff. Also the front fascia of the TL isn't ageing all that well, IMO it's beginning to look really dated compared to all the refreshed 2018 models coming out.

V4I'd agree with wreak in terms of more bang for the buck on the TL but with updated tech and newer condition of the TLX. However, in the end, I'd still personally go with the TL but for reasons that may not be the norm for most people. Like some others on the forum, I'm comfortable with cars that are a bit older and have higher mileage. Especially if they're well designed. Also, a 3-5 year old car is the sweet spot for getting the best car for the money. By then, most cars have depreciated 50% or more but are still in pretty good shape. The 2015 will likely still demand 60-80% of MSRP meaning you'll lose considerably more value over the next few years. For some, it's worth the cost. For me, not so much.
Just an update...so I found a 2012 Acura TL with Tech CPO...same price as the 2015 Acura TLX (base). After driving the both...I'm leaning toward the TL. I love the CPO..and alos the v6. The 4 cylinders on the TLX just feel weak..like im driving an old basic car. TLX looks nice, but feels kinda crappy in 4 cylinder. I'm sure the v6 LTX is much better..but way out of price range.

The TLX certainly isn't a bad car. It's just not as much of a "drivers" car as the TL. I have the FWD, not the SH-AWD and even then, I feel more connected to the car than I was with the TLX. That was the V6 TLX btw. I had it as a loaner for a couple days.
Omgawd
The tl is a nice car I have a 2013 to fwd with the tech package and I also put a takeda cold air intake and a throttle body spacer and the engine sounds amazing and i get better gas mileage and I love how spacious. It's very sporty it can handle some nice turns with little to no body roll if you have some decent tires for grip. Overall the 3.5 is very solid and I would recommend it

And body roll is not reduced by better tires. It would be the other way around.

And these posts are in the thread about the Acura V4.
Yikes.

As far as I know, the only V4 being built anywhere in the world right now is this two-stroke diesel unit from DeltaHawk:
