I was wondering how I should go about painting the grill on my Graphite 2012 TL. I was wondering if people could also share pics with the graphite model painted? I'm not sure which one would look better, graphite grill or black...thanks!

If no graphite TL has done this, Photoshop will be your best friend.

I'm not very good w/ Photoshop, so it would probably look way better IRL. If anyone has the time to do some Photoshopping, here's my PSD if it helps any:
http://www.theping.org/~adil/2012-acura-TL-front-end.psd
Hopefully someone w/ a Graphite has painted their grill, so I won't have to decide based on Photoshop lol

Original

Version 1

Version 2

Version 3 (probably not gonna happen)

I did mine leaving the chrome border, I think it helps the design of the front end flow

The graphite luster is an amazing paint job - depending on lighting, time of day, it can look anywhere from blue > black > gray

quick pick right before a storm

If you all don't mind me asking, what type of paint did you guys use and how much did you guys end up paying. I wanted to make this my next change so I need to get some more info before I jump in...thanks!

I had mine painted at my local ford body shop. front shield and the back v-shape for $250. I then bought some 3m plastic to mask the front end to prevent stone chips.

leaving the outer chrome border unpainted gives the car more contrast like 012tl says.

I thought since I already asked you all for pics, I might as well ask for an opinion as well.
What paint/color did you end up using for your grille on a Graphite TL? I'm about to have mine done and I'm thinking of just color matching.
Thanks!

WOW those grills look great! Way better than I would have thought.

I'm gonna have to chop not onto a white car and see if the black grill works on white.

^ Eh I know was doing a quickie. And the heat from the sun flatten the air bubbles along the way.

I see you have IL plates. Do you happen to live in Chicago? If so, I'd like to ask where you got it painted, and if you think they did an excellent quality job (other than just color). Thanks!

Fantastic quality, color dead on match

My cousin owns the shop and did the work personally

Probably 65-70 miles west of Chicago

Duly noted. I'm in the market for a 2012 and if I pull the trigger I am very interested in painting the grille as well!

I'm only about 45 minutes from there.

Bellanova white is a really nice looking color, my friend has it and I find it to look very handsome ( the car lols) but I prefer my car to be a little bit less sharp looking because I am in new York a lot and don't want to attract any vandals trying to scratch my paint or steal my wheels.

I could understand that, but what color doesn't look sharp on the TL? No matter what it is sexy!
